I've seen/heard of a couple and a guy in the last couple of months who had been abroad, been "good" UK citizens before, returned without anywhere to live and presented themselves to 't Council as Homeless.. I think this comes as a huge surprise to many ..
Council said, nope, you've been out-of-country, we don't have to help you.
Not sure where these regulations are...
Shame really that Suzy B didn't "enjoy" this process...

You are possibly correct AL, but Suzy, as a caring and homeless mother with a small child, should have indeed presented herself and her child to the local authority for emergency housing rather than taking up residence in a tent."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

I think Suzys circs (brief stay abroad, within EU, expectation that accommodation would be available, with child etc) should have elicited a more positive response. Mind you, daddys house looks a bit better than the B+B she would be offered.0 -

Maybe she did, but was told she wasn't homeless seeing as she allegedly owns a number of properties around the globe. Although it would have made interesting and creative use of the Homelessness Prevention Fund by buying her a ticket back to Peru.
I'm beginning to think we'll never get the fabled video update or the answers to the many many questions that have been asked up to now. I'm particularly interested to find out if the deposit was protected in a scheme for a start, although I suspect it probably wasn't. Having said that, I'm also interested to know where all the daddy long legs in my house keep appearing from!BCSC # 9 and proud! :beer:0 -

What do lawyers and insurance companies tell you when you may face a claim or legal dispute ?
Don't they say, keep your mouth shut & don't admit liability.0 -
