Just sent this to Forum Team:
    Hi there,

Having followed this thread with interest since shortly after it began, I was dismayed to find it had been deleted at some point this morning. There are several others on the boards who feel the same. I was wondering if you could provide some sort of explanation so that we can understand your decision better?

I realise that there was some quite specific personal information in the thread, but nothing that was not already in the public domain. I feel the thread covered a very contentious (and likely illegal) act by an inexperienced and ignorant landlord, which has been positively promoted in the media with some very biased reporting and the law/correct course of action not properly explained. This thread was a one of a very small number of dissenting voices and contained

    - Accurate information on housing law and the correct procedure to follow
    - Condemnation of the landlord's actions whilst not condoning rent arrears
    - Almost complete consensus between posters (a rarity, I'm sure you'll agree!) including many landlords
    - Information on who could be contacted to lodge complaints/concerns

If, as some people are surmising, the personal information within this thread was the reason for its removal, would it be possible to edit this out and reinstate the thread?

Many thanks for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.

I've just read a comment on the opposing facebook page and clicked as to the reason why it was likely removed. I won't repeat it here for fear of a ban but I'm sure thats it.

Actually, I will, I have no self control and as the saying goes I'll take one for the team

Any chance you could PM it to me? I can't access FB at work... Thx :)

ETA Just seen your edit! You can't be insinuating what I think you're insinuating? Surely not... I'd be severely disappointed if it was.

On a purely unrelated note, maybe we could petition Martin to use his GMTV slot to draw attention to the issue? If he needs a moneysaving angle, how about saving yourself the cost of getting sued for libel/prosecuted & sued for illegal eviction & harrassment...

Of course not, there's no chance of a conflict of interest here... :p

On a serious note, I don't think this has anything to do with it, much more likely that the LL has set the lawyers on MSE with spurious claims of invasion of privacy, and MSE has pulled the thread as a result.

Rediculous suggestion. You'll be accusing their FB page of censorship next!!

It's still on the GMTV website.

Unfortunately, it's far easier for the MSE Mods to remove any thread than get into an argument. You could always complain to Facebook, but I doubt they would care.
