1 post, no one disagreeing, result.
Factual post.
Be interesting to see how different areas move as the weeks pass.
Sure to be wide divergence.
For the record. Repossession in my road fetched a £130k at auction this month. No record of sale. Though neighbouring terrace house (similar style) sold for £160k in 2004.0 -
There's 3 for sale within 1/4 of a mile, none under offer.
Ironically, there was an old wooden bungalow up for 150k about 6 months ago, which is now on again at 170k (ROFL) got more chance of me sprouting wings and flying to the moon than selling at that price.
Only thing that's changed is someone's got a bit nutty with a chainsaw and cut a load of bushes & trees down so it doesn't look like Fanghorn Forest.
Half a days gardening for 20k, hahahahahaha....0 -

Not even close I'm afraid Thrugal, it's just up the lane from this place which is around the same length and at least 40 foot wider. The current wooden cottage (not really a bungalow I guess) on the plot for sale, needs demolishing whereas this brick built bungalow is almost twice the size and just needs renovating.
Say you rebuilt on the cheap for around 50/70k, it'd still be vastly overpriced in comparison to what's available within a few miles radius (semi rural area).
[edit] just to add this is rather location based Thrugal, if it was in the city or down south etc - it'd probably be a bargain, even if you did have to rebuild.0 -

Round my way too....
223 houses for sale
142 houses STC
365 in total
I'm quite surprised to be honest, though saying that anything half way decent goes pretty quickly.
Next door was up for sale as "needs updating" and sold within 3 weeks.
I did notice when going to a friend's a couple of houses go up for sale recently and they were sold within days.
242 houses for sale
132 houses STC
374 in total
I'm still surprised but houses are still selling, the house I mentioned above as "needing updating" has new owners and very nice they are too.
Next door on the other side is for sale and hasn't sold in about 3 months - it needs updating too, on the inside not the outside which is lovely - the owners are both academics and tidying up a house to sell is outside their terms of reference.
It has a rear extension which was turned into a small self contained annex, the small kitchen and bathroom were created by utilising half of the garage - not what everyone wants I imagine.
Not a big change and it will be interesting to see what happens over the winter.0 -
Within 1/4 mile of me there are (houses and flats):
1. Primelocation (better central London coverage)
45 in total (43 last time)
11 of which are under offer / SSTC (12 last time)
Within 1/2 mile:
284 in total (272 last time)
of which 60 are under offer / SSTC (63 last time)
2. Rightmove
within 1/4 mile, 35 in total (27 last time)
of which 18 are under offer / SSTC (11 last tiem)
within 1/2 mile, 218 in total (166 last time)
of which 91 are under offer / SSTC (67 last time)...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

round my official way:
32 for sale
0 STC  ordepending on your perspective.
round my unofficial way:
35 for sale
3 STC
(I would add, this is skewed slightly by 1 commercial property, 5 shared ownership, plus 1 property which has been repossessed, yet isn't on RM. It is advertised for sale, & has had a significant number of viewings, yet no takers in approx 4 months!)
ooooooh! New thread idea. what would happen to/on RM if repo's were on there....:D
Round my official way:
26 for sale
6 STC
round my unofficial way:
35 for sale
5 STC
Most suprising was the disparity in prices. In particular, 2 houses, 100 yards away from each other, built at the same time, same plan etc, £20k difference in asking price. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Very similar situation to what I saw on my search then!0
