New enter button live!

I'm not sure how others feel about the new entered button but I'm confused about what this button is for?
I welcomed the idea of an 'entered' button to be added as I liked the idea that it would make it much easier and obvious to see that you have entered a competition especially for those who love to whizz through them. When you press the button it adds the letter 'un' in front of enter, nothing else changes and I don't feel that it makes it anymore obvious that you have entered than if you had clicked the thanks button?
Could someone advise if I am missing the point? I would have welcomed a button that prehaps says 'entered' and once you click it the button would change to blue, or disappear or maybe the heading would change colour so it would make it more obvious?
I feel that if I was to use the button it would be slowing me down as I want to thank the OP too and to check my posts I would need to look closer for the 'un' on the green button, which comping at ungodly hours can make things a little more tricky
I'm not trying to moan, I thought it was a good idea, maybe not executed as best it could be?Comping wishlist for 2017

Taken from the start of the thread posted by MSE ArchnaSimply click the button when you’ve entered a comp - the button is at the bottom of the first post next to edit, quote etc - and a green tick will appear in the top left hand corner.
The green tick also appears on the board next to threads where you’ve clicked ‘Entered’.
Please note, this only works in the new style forum. I'm afraid we don't have the resources to implement it on both the new and old. To switch to the new style forum go to your user control panel and choose the new style dropdown.(Most 'financial' affiliate links pay upwards of £20 a time. With 9 million visitors a month a fair number are going to click on links in his 'trusted' articles. It's not going to be a small amount that gets generated. I know this because I have financial affiliate sites of my own).
if this be the case then it will soon be time for me to get my hat and coat and leave

I dont see much point in the new "enter button" its just as easy to press the "thanks" button then you can tell if you have enterd or not .................................what i would like to see is a "tick" or something on the outside of the thread so you no you have enterd ...Can't sleep, quit counting sheep and talk directly to the shepherd :cool:0

Once you refresh the page you can see the green ticks next to the ones you've entered. Not sure if this has to be done for everyone.0

they no longer want the old style forum and are in the process of doing away with it completely
I'm still using the old :eek:SECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:

Not really, because some competitions don't start until a specific time and date, and people thank the OP, but bookmark the thread for later on. Doesn't mean they've entered.
Personally, I use the thank button only after I've entered a competition so I can know whether I've entered or not. Makes life easier. But, I think the i've entered button is useful for those that thank the op no matter what.0
