I do admire anyone that wants to go on with study, I hated school. My parents said I couldn't leave at 16 unless I got a job, so I did....did my GCSE's, passed them all and breathed a huge sigh of relief.
Pooky, they think some of the pressure is due to people like me who are going back in as a mature student. Applications from that group were up 65%.
My parents were kind of the opposite of yours. They were classic 1970's - my brother's were going to university, I needed to meet a man who had been to university. They needed a degree, I needed a job in nursing/teaching/secretarial. The set up was very much of its time. I think this is why I am so driven to get qualifications.
Think I have stopped rebelling against it now but still need the housing knowledge to shift sector. Do have the development experience though.
