falady - Dont worry yourself about everyone else lovely you've got enough on your mind, Do people really worry about who's going to hold the baby first (shrugs shoudlers) ? But whoever is worrying let them go second

Thanks Jackie,
I think you are right and I'm getting a bit frazzled!I agree with you that in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter who holds the baby first / what order visitors come etc, but I don't think my parents and outlaws will agree. I can't be doing with other people's silly politics and expectations. Hubby is pretty easy going, and I've not talked to him about it, but think i will. He does tend to worry about me though, because i get anxiety, and he worries that another episode of that is starting. So sometimes, talking to him doesn't help much. I just want to feel in control and not have other people making unreasonable demands.
Hmmm. Hopeefully seeing the midwife this morning will help resolve some of my worries. If I can have a nap this afternoon (and when I say nap, I mean 3 hours of sleep!:p) I'll feel better and more able to face the world.
Thank you,

Morning
Woke up to a horrendous thunderstorm this morning, has dried up a the moment, but thunder is still about, should be back to normal by tea time. Going to tackle the ironing mountain while it is cooler. Tomorrow is forecast hot and sunny so last time to top up the tan before we leave.
Used up the last of the bacon for breakfast, have salad stuff left, so will make a large one for tea, and have some for my lunch too.. Is there anything wrong with wanting my mum there before the outlaws?
Sorry falady but yes it is totally wrong, you are immediately building walls which do not need to be built. Your MIL is as much part of the baby as your Mum. Too much love is never a problem for a child, welcome all their love, you will be tired, and help from both parents will be good. We often had both sets of parents there together, they became friends, and there was no animosity and I ended up with great in-laws and parents, and DS won out big style.

Hi and welcome to Sunshine79. I've only just got back into posting regularly on here (lots of life changes over the last year had eaten into my time!) and I'm so glad to be back. I'm sure you'll love it here!
RedRuby - good luck to your friend with the op.
Taplady - good luck at the dentist. Whatever it costs it will be worth it to get it fixed.
Well, I'm on standby to help with the plastering - I have to wash the buckets and trowels out after each mix because the plaster gets too hard to clean out properly if it's left too long, so I'm just waiting for the call. I don't mind because it means I can surf on here and not start anything that will take too long.
We're still wondering if our cat, Louis, will ever come back home. He's been gone for three weeks today but I haven't got the heart to put his bowls and things away just yet. I know what cats are like for wandering off when they feel like it.

Morning all
Got the washing out already, and no need to arrange tea tonight - off to visit the step-family, now they're back from their holiday. Free meal, in exchange for sitting through a couple of hours of my brother and sister telling me about the holidays, sounds like a fair swap to me! Didn't get much done last night or this morning thanks to a migraine that saw me sound asleep on the sofa by about half 9, thankfully, I'd already loaded the WM and set the timing, so that still got done, and there's no rain yet so the washing is outside... Fingers cossed it'll stay dry for a while longer, not holding my breath though! Not sure what needs doing today, apart from the last bit of studying, so I'll get that over with, then I can have an afternoon with my knitting, or maybe the quilt...
Hope everyone has good days!
