In the end they went from offering me £0.00 to a goodwill gesture of £60.00. This was after many many requests for them to send my item back and them making lots and lots of excuses (I think basically they could not find it!). In the end I said that I would take the matter to the police because I honestly believed they were obtaining goods by deception, this sped the matter up!
All in all it left a very bitter taste in the mouth. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0 -
Have tried to post several electrical items on this website for a valuation recently (all working with instruction booklets etc) and after several attempts to get a response finally received one this morning to say that none of the items, even a HD-Ready Sony Bravia TV, had no re-sale value. Overall they were very very slow and the website had lots of glitches.:(0

I very rarely post on forums but this firm have left me so angry I feel it is only right to share with others. I strongly recommend that people avoid this firm like the plague.
Back at the beginning of November last year I sent a water damaged 4th gen ipod nano and a fully working old sat nav including sd card loaded with maps to weeebuy recorded. Weeks passed before they acknoledged their arrival and even longer passed before the were "tested". Only after contacting Weeebuy was I told that my sat nav was not in working order upon testing and had been downgraded to £0. I was asked to reply with my bank account details for a BACS payment for the ipod. I was uncomfortable sending such personal information in and unsecured email and I asked for payment by cheque along with the return of my sat nav. Weeebuy replied stating that they would organise a cheque to be sent but the sat nav could not be returned. I have asked for a valid reason why they are unable to return my "non-working" sat nav but to date am yet to recieve a vaild reason for this or payment for my ipod.
While I appreciate that these goods were of little value it is the principle that this firm was happy to agree to pay for them and have now decided to keep them with little or no explanation. This evening I have again asked for either payment or the return of my goods, but after such a long period of time I am not holding my breath for their return and my experience of their lack of customer care leads me to believe that payment will not be forthcoming.
Well thats my rant over, but please think twice before sending high value old tech to this firm as it my well be the last time you see it if it somehow arrives "not working"0 -
Hi West Hammertime,
If you PM your details to me I can get Weeebuy to look into it.0 -
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm having trouble contacting weeebuy by email - the contact email address on their web site keeps bouncing back (and I've tried sending it from two different email accounts). I am waiting for them to collect two laptops; two courier collection appointments have now been missed.
Update: Never mind, I phoned them this morning and they're having problems with their IT systems; they took my details and will call me back.0 -
I sent a phone to weeebuy on 6th April 2011 and still have not received payment, had a couple of emails asking for bank details, but after replying have had no response. On my account it says the phone has been checked but have heard nothing. When you phone it has been saying that they have technical issues for 2 days now, I would tell anyone whatever they do do not send anything to this company!0

I sent my phone to this company on 18th April- likewise yet still no response or acknowledgement to emails , phone calls etc, their systems have been down for days now, and it is wholly unsatisafactory! Also, their website has an expired securtiy certificate message. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!0

Looking to sell my old Nokia 1800 phone, mobilevaluer.com said weebuy would offer £17 (or £18 high street vouchers). Accessed the weebuy site and search on the phone said they'd pay up to £17, so info on mobilevaluer appeared correct. HOWEVER, when I finally got hold of my IMEI number and input that as requested to continuen with the sale, they changed their quote to £2. This for a fully working version. So what do I have to do to get the £17 they continue to quote before inputting an IMEI?
From the other posts on here it sounds like I was saved from using a very dodgey company anyway, as it appears they don't pay out after you send in your items anyway. All in all AVOID THIS COMPANY.0 -
Hi,does anyone have any information about WEEEBUY? Some weeks ago I posted off an old mobile. Because I've not heard a dikky about the transaction, I decided to try an track the postage, went on the web site entered the relievent info to get to the point of tracking only to find the site had lost its web certification on top of that my access codes were invalid, tried to reset my access codes by them sending me my codes via an email, no email responce, tied calling them via the 0845 number, this goes on to an answer machine saying they'll get back to me....NO JOY!! Have they shut down the business? Anyone with a similar problem? Not a professional way of conducting a business I'd say!!0
