London Hotel for Senior Travellers

Hi Guys

I need a hotel for 5 days 25th - 30th August for my Grandparents in London. They arrive Euston train station and will be visiting a relative at Tower Bridge area.

Anyone suggest maybe a family run hotel who will look after them a little (both in their mid 80s and from rural area) to minimise any stress? Just need a basic room with a window, nowt fancy ;)

Thanks
Jinx

Sorry just noticed it was started by the OP. That is the bank holiday week, so a lot of accomodation towards the end of their stay will be booked up or expensive at this late stage.

Can the relative not help out, either putting them up or knowing of a suitable place nearby?

Actually I had forgotten I had posted this!! But actually I looked at both hotels and discounted them on cost and some of the tripadvisor reviews.

Having chatted to my g'parents I think something smaller would suit them better as theyve never been to London or really stayed in big corporate hotels.....

Hethmar - the relative has a one bed near Tower Bridge so cant have them to stay and I asked them to ask her to recommend somewhere and apparently its a surprise so they wont ask.

I guess Im just a bit worried about them... :o

Here is a suggestion. try https://www.athomeinlondon.co.uk . Top quality family run accommodation agency. Stay in family homes on a B&B basis.
Good price, fantastic hosts, and run by a professional agency. Definitely worth a look.

Not cheap as this last minute but about the same price you would pay for a very basic hotel near the bank holiday, there is a 5 star "secret" hotel at Tower Bridge on last minute.com for the dates you want for £499.

I did have a look earlier today on lastminute.... but I couldnt figure out which hotel it is...do you happen to know? I really do want to check tripadvisor before I book as I was looking at one of the Best Westerns until I saw that they seem to habitually overbook - and I dont want the 'olds' to be stressed by that sort of thing...

Thanks for the help though, its appreciated as I feel responsible as I got the job of booking it all!:o

I've had a look at the website and sent off an enquiry form - it does look like an ideal time of accommodation for them. Many thanks :)

Don't worry about the overbooking business as I expect they won't be booking in very late at night. A number of hotels apparently do this, as they offer late cancellations on bookings, but it is usually people booking in late at night that find rooms gone to thsoe arriving earlier. Also they are arriving before the bank holiday so will already be in their room, before the it gets really busy.

Apparently it is Grange City Hotel. Post 300.

If booking, I would send a nice email in advance, stating that they may need looking after as it is their first time in a big hotel and they are in their 80s. You never know they might even upgrade them for free on arrival.
