Grandparents trip to London - end August

Hey Guys

My grandparents want to head to London near the end of August to visit my grans sister. She lives near Tower Bridge and their train arrives in London Euston....

My question is, how far apart (roughly) are these places and can you recommend a hotel which would suit 2 80-something non-city slickers?

Thanks in advance :)

I'm not sure how far away Euston is from Tower Bridge in miles, but the easiest way to get to one from the other by public transport is probably to cross the road at Euston to get to Euston Square and then go on the circle line to Tower Hill

If you're looking at the budget end for hotels and want to be around Tower Bridge, I'd recommend the Tower Bridge Travelodge, which is one of the better Travelodges - it's a few hundred yards from Tower Hill tube and the DLR, with a Wetherspoons just opposite for cheap meals and a Tesco express just round the corner. The only critisism I've heard is that it can be hot in summer (I've only stayed there in winter), if your room isn't on the ground floor, as they are the only ones with air conditioning - check out TripAdvisor for reviews.

Hello, I would recommend the Premier Inn at Tower Bridge Road, if you could get a good deal. Request for a quiet room at the back since the ones near the road could be a bit noisy. There is a Sainsbury's nearby as well as Manze, one of the oldest pie and mash shop down the road (older than the Tower Bridge apparently!)

The Travelodge as recommended above is good too but it is placed at very busy traffic junction, which could be a tad overwhelming. Taxi fares from Euston station to Premier Inn would be around £20.

Thanks to you both. I think they would be going by taxi as I cannot see them getting the tube on their own (rural farmers, soo not townies) as they have never used public transport and my grandad would get stressed/panicked by the amount of people. Hes not really looking forward to it which is a shame...
