I've written so many C.V's in my time, and applied for so many jobs in my time... it's become almost another skill of mine- applying for jobs!

It's all about sale-ability. If you were selling your house, you'd want it to look as amazing as possible on first glance. Clean, smart, tidy, open, light. So when applying for a job you want to do the same thing, be seen as clean, smart, tidy, honest and bright.

Oh... must remember to join the MSE energy Club tonight. Keep saying "I need to do...." and then getting utterly side tracked.

Need to also get on with planting seedlings or seeds for the things we want to grow this year. We grew chillies last year and used them to make a sweet chilli chutney as Christmas presents for people. It was divine and very popular.

This year we plan to grow more chillies, tomatoes, potatoes and some baby gem lettuce. Hbase have sent me a freebie voucher for packet of seeds. Can you believe they are giving away free what will be food? :)

Me thinks I'm bored at work today. I've done the "How tight are you quiz on MSE"...
    You are 47% tight
"You're frugal, you're thrifty, but on this site that's a little bit fab."

Just signed up for the Cheap Energy Club... as I promised myself I would.
We are able to save £28 a year, but only by switching to a certain company with a small dancing blob.
Our past experiences with said company and things we have heard mean for the sake of £2 a month, we'll be staying put for now. Love that about MSE though... I feel so empowered to make the decision, rather than just staying because I don't know any better!
    :money:

NSD today, work was dull, and now I have the dentist in the morning. I realised I'm getting old when I'm having to have fillings replaced!!

Luckily for me, I paid for the treatment upfront last month, which means I can sit in my overdraft and not stretch it any further until payday :D

I do love having dentist/doctors appointments to attend every once in a while- because of how far I live from work it basically means I get a half day by the time I get there. And I get paid for a full day all the same...
Sticking it to "the man" :rotfl:

    I am grateful today for;
    - my insanely sweet and generous work colleague who took it upon himself to pump up my almost flat tyre by foot in the middle of one of these weird blizzards we had today. (Note to self to buy him a small token of thanks on way to work tomorrow- donuts after the dentist anyone?)
    - organised life, allowing me time to sit down and just not do a lot
    - books. I'm reading Eat, Pray, Love and despite the attached cliches, I am enjoying it alot and finding my inner curious settled living vicariously.
    - my gorgeous furry moggy, who decided she loved me enough to give me some cuddles
    - my DOH for being my never failing team mate in life and for buying me a kinder surprise egg. Never too old for toys and chocolate!

    These sub zero temps are really un:cool:, but they are making me grateful for a few things;
    - hot steaming cups of tea
    - plug in electric heaters
-slippers (which I may take to work tomorrow)
    I'm also grateful for;
    - still having all of my own teeth and only 2 fillings, even if after the one today has left me with all day face pain
    - having a NSD today, and have no planned spend until Saturday when I'm getting my seedlings purchased and ready to plant.

Have looked at ISA's today... times really do blow the rubbish end for savers. If only our savings rates could match our mortgage interest rates hey guys????
But still it looks like I can get around £140 over a year in interest with what we have decided to put in so its better than a kick in the teeth (or a trip to the dentist!)

Also setting up a seperate "car pot" as we are now having issues with BOTH cars. The other one needs new tyres, tax and a handbrake adjustment, DOH may have fixed the Peugeot for less than £30.
    I do :heartpuls him.

Oh and I've been put forward for a job today- closer to home and involves commuting south towards Taunton instead of north and into Bristol- should be more money. Here is hoping.

Night folks- to quote the awesome Mr Fry "Be wonderful to each other"

Was about to type morning.. then realised it was afternoon! :j Yay for Hump Day and it being nearly lunch time.

Right, so lovely dudes and dudettes could you help me out?
I see lots of chitter and chatter about cash back sites, new scanning in apps and things which are helping peeps make their OP's and save money.

Can you please post your favouritest tool/ link or idea for me? i would be ever so grateful for the help of my fellow MFW's.

Anything would be appreciated! I'm not sure about the best sites to use- i.e Quidco etc, and when it's best to use them.
Share your wisdom with me? :D

Oh thanks Tops.. I doubt it's that interesting at the moment!
The really interesting part will come when we look at selling in 3 years time and have the equity loan to sort out... oh and in about 18 months when we have to start paying interest on the loan.
For now it's just me prattling! :)

What a gorgeous day! :D Cold.. but I'm inside with my beloved electric heaters and some lovely pear and vanilla tea.

Been sat being a bit naughty today, sort of reading through and catching up on here, and applying for a few sneaky jobs.
Applied for a graduate job.. even though I'm not a graduate :p
I resent that some jobs stipulate you must be degree level qualified. The job I applied for today, is isn't necessary at all and I can definitely do that job as well, if not better than someone who's been in Uni for the last 3 years.
    Rant over :rotfl:

I realised last night that we have the following expenditure coming up...

    Car Tax due- £170
Camping Trip at end of month- £80 due for site fees and then spending money/ money to buy food on top- £120 total?
Car needs new back tyres- £100
DOH wants a new suit for a wedding we're attending in April- £100
So in the next 4 weeks we need £490

So DOH is now working plenty of OT these next few weeks :rotfl:

I (luckily) am getting my backdated payrise this month, as well as the remainder of my annual bonus. I'm hoping to have a minimum extra £250 in my wages, which is being split between credit card payment and car tax. :(
    Rocking and rolling!

Am signing up for Quidco tonight, using my perkz means I only have to pay annual fee of £2.50- 50% of the usual cost, so the other £2.50 will move to my new little savings pot.

Any tips on other ways I could be saving, claiming cashback etc would be grateful if you would chuck them my way :D

Oh dear.. I made the mistake of mentioning my MFW plans in the office. Why does this always happen?
"That's a very nice idea, good luck with that... There's no way you'll be able to do that once you've had kids and had to give up work and moved house etc... blah blah blah"
People are so cynical and always think they know best.

I can move house, have a family and potentially give up work for a few years to raise my family and still be MF before I'm 50... I CAN!
