All clampers are cowboy scum. That's definite, you are on your own here if you think otherwise.

Show me an example of a clamping firm doing a service for a non-extortionate sum and only clamping people who the retailer/occupiers have not invited.

There is NO such clamping firm, they all looked for ANY reason to clamp.

I would rather be on my own, than have a bigoted opinion and not be able to see anything from an other point of view.

Daddy's Golf club have one, so that means every business should?

What about a small shop that has parking for 10 cars outside? Staff need 4 spaces, customers 6.

Could a small shop install barriers and retractable poles? Would a customer wait while you fiddled with a pole so they could park?

Do customers have swipe cards to visit your shop?

Your whole comment is stupid because you are too narrow minded to think that all business can implement such ideas to stop people abusing their parking spaces.

Oh wait, they could employ a full time parking attendant couldn't they? Yes the small shop could do that.

I see you do not want reasoned debate just to hurl insults. Thought as much. A leopard may hide its spots but cannot change them.

I am not playing your childish game.

Stick to playing with yourself. Others will soon tire of your idiocy and deliberate obtuseness as well.

'In front of a driveway' could be different as it could be public highway. In which case the Councils in some areas can put a PCN on for parking adjacent to a dropped kerb.

On a driveway, you are right it's not illegal - but none of us here condone that. It's just a stupid old chestnut of an example trotted out by PPC trolls every time they get a word in on this board.

But how often have you read about people having a stranger parked on their driveway - it's not exactly a common occurence and still won't be! Not only that, the new government have said I think that landowners will be able to ask the Police to remove obstructive vehicles under certain circumstances (not sure how that would work though, imagine if someone had a row with their wife & called thePolice while she was out, to tow her car away off the driveway!).

ANYWAY, THE IMPORTANT THING IS CLAMPING IS BANNED AT LAST!

What about cities such as London where people rent out their driveways to commuters?

    That is nothing new.

I guess it just looks like the police and council will be busier.

I have seen it reported once a few years back when someone parked on a strangers drive, by mistake, for a couple of weeks. They thought they were leaving the car at a friends house and got the wrong house number. Plod could do nothing and the householder could move the car but only without damaging it.

Plod would not get involved as it was a "civil matter sir"

I cannot understand the opening paragraph.

Is the entrance to the car park opposite this fire exit?

How do cars get to the area in front of the door?

Because the door opens out and leads onto the road after the path. Its quite hard to describe with out pictures and im not drawing any.

you will have to take my word for it

EDIT: forgot to mention that we need the area clear for emergency vehicles also..

    Nope it hasn't.

It is still about the banning of scum clampers.

Of course it hasn't. The imbecile raised the issue in the first place with the deluded theory we had all been clamped and received private parking tickets. The theory being, like all of his ramblings, complete toss. Once this was debunked he looked for some other nonsense to throw at people and is ranting about the thread taking a turn which he instigated.

There was nothing reasoned about your suggestion.

You chose only specific scenarios where you could do something to combat people parking without permission, but somehow forgot about any other.

I am not playing, I am just airing my opinion, if you don't like it, please ignore it.

People on this thread need to accept that people do have differing opinions.

I doubt that people here are bigoted towards clampers. There is enough evidence in the public domain to warrant the general view held of them.

As Coupon-Mad asked, feel free to provide examples that would prove the contrary.

Why will the police and the council be busier?

    What will they be doing?

I think I understand now there is a door which opens outwards has a small path and then onto a road where cars park. Can you put bollards on the road? Barriers at each side of the path where the staff would leave. I have seen both of these methods used.
