  • It's lovely to hear from you Ruby - the post you made is the most positive I have seen you write in along time - hope it is to do with the Matrix. :T

Does your ex really want some of the value of the house or is he just being a kn0b because I thought he was a businessman and had lots of money

Glad you have managed to treat the children in the holidays.

I'm not sure if CCCS will help if you have less than £50 per month to offer your creditors, even if they don't you can continue with your token payments.

At least you have a list of things to do to hopefully help the debt situation and then you will fel like you are doing positive things to sort your debt.

Aah yes I remember you posted your SOA and my only solution then was to sell the house but you were tied in with your mortgage.

Sorry not sure what you need to earn to get the same amount of income.

:TKeep on being positive Ruby :T

    So far today I have:

written to Nationwide requesting of refund of charges out of time.
written to ombudsman requesting refund of santander's outrageous charges!
written to co-op asking them nicely if they will refund charges
written to orange asking them to apply a £50 credit to my account that should have been actioned 2 years ago.

Going to move on to the phone calls now. I am feeling more positive because I am the one who is in charge of this. This is the beginning of the end and the next phase will give me the opportunity to really forward with the life that I want for me and my boys. Transition is always hard but it is necessary to grow and change.

Whoop! Whoop! Have just been through payslips and worked out deductions. I have paid £458.46 into the pension scheme that I am opting out of and a further £843.60 in tax and £159.84 in NI contributions when I am not eligible for tax. No wonder I'm broke! So I've filled out my opt out forms and put them in the post and put paperwork to one side to phone HR tomorrow re tax :)

I have also phoned water company as they flushed the sewers last month which broke my shower - they are sending out an engineer tomorrow :)
Called Farmers Choice as I set up a DD with them last year but never got around to ordering anything. I have £106.50 on account :)
Sent Sky a letter disputing a final bill for £44 and asking them to send correct itemised billing - don't know if I'll get anywhere with this one but worth a go. I'm certainly not paying a bill that I don't know what it is for!
Phoned BT to upgrade my broadband as they have been charging me £5 a month for going over my limit (10gb - I thought we were pretty low users but apparently not) so they have upgraded it for another £3. They also have an offer on for BT Vision - £4 a month for freeview with free box, recorder, playback thingy. I already get freeview through my satellite dish for free but this seems like a really good deal. However, I need to get my aerial checked and pay a £30 activation charge which is making me think twice. Any thoughts?

Will speak to HR tomorrow before talking to Student Loans. Whoop! Whoop! Having time makes such a difference to quality of life and to the bank balance!

Homemade pizza in the oven so today has been a no spend day :)

If I had lump sums of money coming in I could pay off some debts. How cool would that be?!

  • Well done Ruby - you really are flying this week. :j

I guess it helps to have 6 weeks off!!

Hope you can get some money back from your tax and national insurance which can then either pay a small bill or maybe can be put aside for any unexpected expenses. :D

I am not sure about BT Vision as I read on someone's thread earlier that their box keeps freezing and also why waste £30 when you are getting some channels for free - personally I would save the money.

Is Farmers Choice a Farmers Market company or something - if it is get ordering some nice food.:rotfl:

Farmer's Choice is a meat subscription service. They deliver free range British meat and fish at reasonable prices. Great idea I just never had the time to use it before.

Ok, I have completed my invoice for the university but can't send it off as I can't find the address for the accounts dept. Doh! My eyes are tired now and I think I have ceased been productive.

I shined my sink last night and that out em in good stead for the day so will have to make sure I do it tonight as well. Right, wine and sofa!

  • I think you have done more than enough for today - go and enjoy your wine.

And as for the address, even if you post it now it won't get collected until tomorrow so make it your first job of the day!!!

Started a new beauty thread as feeling distinctly frumpy! Check it out if you're interested.

I've also been poring (or pouring) over the extra income thread. I need to do less moaning and more acting. Need to pick myself up and make the most of every single opportunity.

Home alone so treated myself to some beer and a fistful of magazines - I'm treating this as research. I should be writing. I have an exceptional amount of knowledge about birth and an ability, if no confidence, to write. I should be making more of this. Right.

Oh my god - my friend from school is on TV. MP Stella Creasy on BBC 3 now!!

Feeling sad today :(. Not miserable just a bit sad. I know the reason for this and I know what I need to do about it but for the moment it's a bit personal so I can't really write about it on here for now.

Home alone today, stereo on, sun shining, perfect opportunity to get some stuff sorted before the kids descend tomorrow. Which means I should just pick a job and get on with it. Right, socks up, off we go...

Will just change music to something more upbeat. Reckon Kings of Leon are dragging me down rather than pumping me up.

  • Oh Ruby, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling sad today. Good that you know the reason and how to sort it otherwise you would probably be in even more of a state.

Hope you managed to do some housework wih some great music.
