Thank you! I almost listed them yesterday, not very savvy! So, I'll just wait. :money:
I'm tired tonight, got takeaway (£10I'm so bad, this will be the ONLY one this month) toys are still lying around and i just can't shift myself
Done a shop yesterday, I spent around £66 (which included formula and nappies - I'm actually going to save a fortune when Baby is full weaned!) I've still to tot up what was groceries and what was baby goods, I'm budgeting £60 for baby and £100 for groceries/food this month. Had my usual Tuesday lunch spend and that came to around £3.50 (I still have reciepts)
Patiently waiting on the Utilities to update so I can see how much is left outstanding.
Checked my credit file yesterday (and cancelled my free trial - normally I would let them take months and months of payments, not no more!!) it's saying my outstanding debt is £15,981. Which is A LOT less than I had calculated *confused smilie* My score is fair, nearing on good.
I really must move myself :rotfl:I'll get there!0 -
Has it really only been 8 days since I updated?? It has honestly been THE longest 8 days of my life! DS1 hadn't been settling at night, menaing I've been sat on the floor ebside his bed (cursing the guy who sold us our carpets 'No, Mrs Penny, you won't need underlay')
He was wrong! I've spent 5 days sleeping on the wretched floor and I could have given anything to have underlay! So.uncomfortable!
Anyhow, DS1 has settled the past two nights so I'm feeling brave and going to bed at 10pm, wild!
I'm just kinda bumbling along, with everything really! I have, however, learnt that one big 'shop' isn't for me. I've spend the monthly budget already and I'm still at the shops everyday  I like going to the supermarket, I mentioned before about having the kids in one place and talking to the checkout operators....So until my life gets more exciting, I'm going to keep going when I please! (just not spend too much!) :rotfl:I'll get there!0 -
Hi Mrs P,
Lovely to see you back, although I am sorry about your terrible nights sleeping on the floor. I have had a really bad 3 nights with DD as she has a cough which strikes every hour.
Ha ha, well if you enjoy going to the supermarkets then there is no harm in that...why don't you break your monthly shopping list up into small two weekly shops?
I am hoping for 9:30 sleep tonight although its nice to have a catch up with other MSE'ers...feel a bit of a social animal tonight, party on the boards!

Ahhhh, some time to myself!!
Toddles staying with MrP, Baby tucked up in bed and settled at last.
Just had a sift through this week spends, it does not make for happy reading, no sirreee!
Here's the breakdown:
Food:
£71.81  (although this did include taking my lovely friend out for buffet dinner, £26 of it anyway)
Baby
0.40p!
Cleaning products:
£2.19
Other
£147.92  I feel I need to justify this hideous amount of money! £60 was to pay for a Hen Night, £5.29 was on a present and card, £16 on 2 DVD's for toddles - one for christmas and the other because he's been poorly and, well, I just wanted to treat him£39 was on clothes for me (£15 of which will be getting returns tomorrow) I have my winter boots now though AND i didn't buy two pairs (one in each colour, which I would have done previously) £9 was on a new handbag, mine fell apart in town - the actual strap broke, it had been worn down for ages and I kept putting off buying a new one. £4 was on gloves for the boys. The remainder went on non-essentials, new batteries, ice cream and juice at the park, lotto, Fat Club.
So, I have spent alot but at least I know where it's going, right?
I think I'm doing ok, I'm keeping my spending diary up to date and although my 'predicted budget' is completely blown out of the water, I'm getting a good insight into my spending.
Overview of October, so far:
Food
Week1: £81.19
Week2: £77.81
TOTAL: £159
Baby
Week1: £25.34
Week2: 0.40p
TOTAL: £25.74
Cleaning/personal
Week1: £10.55
Week2: £2.19
TOTAL: £12.74
Misc:
Week1: £125.77
Week2: £147.92
TOTAL: £273.69
Maybe next month, I should break down 'Misc' into catergories, petrol, lotto, birthday presents, cards, clothes, entertainment, Christmas, Fat Club, edible treats (icecreams/juice outside the home?)
Meh. Not nearly as good as it could have been this month and we're only half way through! I've nothing left of my food budget, I've got a birthday party to attend and a new baby on the way (not me, lol!) Sigh. More leaning curves....I'll get there!0 -
Had a look at my finances this morning (like I do every morning) and oh dear!
I'm short for bills by £105, I know how it's happened. I though I was getting some money in on 26th(when most of my DDs come out) turns out the money is actually due on 28th. 2days short. Sigh.
Frantically logged onto my Utilities account to see if I could move the dd online. You can't! There was an option on a payment holiday, but it wouldn't let me select October. I'm going to phone them this morning and see if I can move the direct debit date to 28th. If not, I'll have to cancel it and make a manual payment.
Urgh, can't believe I've been so silly!!
Happy MondayI'll get there!0 -
Hi MrsP,
Hope you sorted out your DD, we all forget about payments once in a while...not the end of the world, we can't be perfect all the time.

Managed to shuffle the DD's :j and it's re-ignited my lightblub. I can't keep shuffling stuff, Robbing Peter anyone?? I'm giving myself until Feburary, when the car is gone, to keep treading water and if I'm not more comfortable by then, I'm going to contact CCCS
So, I've been pretty spendy since my last update. Mostly just because I'm bored or unorganised. Boys driving me mad? In the pushchair for a walk to the shop, bam £3.50 gone on rubbish. Haven't empited the dishwasher? Phone a takeaway, £11 gone. Some free time? In the car, to the shops, spend spend spend spend.
I can't bear to check my diary/recipts for week three, I will but I'm seriously dreading it
Almost ordered food in tonight, just because i feel I deserve a treat (possibly the reason I'm in this mess??) I stopped myself, I actually have no money, so it would have been on credit card (crazy to even think about it, I'm getting charged 16+% !!!!!!!!) I reasoned with myself that my boys need me to be debt free and healthy.
Meh. I need a good shake (and a money tree!!)xxI'll get there!0 -
Hi MrsP,
You know what? Spending is a hobby, I love buying things...especially clothes, its what makes me happy. So watching every penny isn't going to come easy and on top of what you have been through I think its going to be a while before you manage to get it off to an art, depriving yourself of too many nice things will make you miserable and then you will just think s*d it, am already in debt so whats another x amount.
Fresh start for November!!!! Have you tried allocating a certain number of takeaways a month? Maybe put the money in a pot?

Thanks, I needed to hear that!
I just feel like I should be motivated enough NOT to spend money!
I sound like a big fat takeaway monster, it's just rubbish cooking for one, dishes for one and after the whole day with the Pennies, I just can't be bothered!!
I've spent most of the evening, just sat here, not even doing anything online, half watching the TV. I should go to bed, but I refuse to because I haven't had time to myself all day!! Goodness me, I'm hard work!! :rotfl:I'll get there!0 -
I feel exactly the same with food for one, but I go the other way and just don't eat coz I can't be ar*ed. I tend now to buy easy things from Aldi, things I like eating because it's cheap so can afford the rubbish stuff I wouldnt normally waste money on.
I've laid on the sofa tonight too and just generally feel sorry for myself at the mo...woe is us ha ha.
Think it's the weather? Maybe we have SAD.
Time for the happy pig to come out I think.
