  • Will speak to him later. His post is notoriously bad and slow so is it possible he has a letter in the post and they phoned as well? I don't know the exact details of his convo I can only repeat wht he's said to me.

Quite correct that no-one "dobbed-in" gets a warning phone call (unless they have a mole at the relevent office), a phone call would be a hoax/wind up, wait for a letter, and even then, confirm its genuine, computers+printers are marvellous things....

This is wrong - whilst the Compliance Officer may not use phrases such as 'we are monitoring you' it is quite plausible for them to call a claimant (particularly where they think nothing is actually wrong). It is more plausible that they would call to clarify information, such as asking 'Can I confirm how many people are living in the household' etc.

maxmycardagain, you have made it clear that your experience of compliance is from the claimant side. My information is from a DWP perspective.

  • Alright minor update. I spoke to my boyfriend today. He has said it looks like we've got to go for an interview. According to him the guy on the phone said he's basically not in trouble, but they want to clarify information and just double check nothing dodgy is going on.

Still is this a bad thing we've been called for interview? Is he going to get in trouble for having me stay over?

    Not sure what you mean?

She means a little too defensive for the degree of claimed innocence.

It shouldn't be a bad thing. They have to be seen to fully investigate every report, so an interview is the easiest way to do this.

Ok. Is there any advice of what I can do/what I should take? I thought about taking proof of my address etc

I wasn't trying to be defensive so if it came across that way sorry. Am just worried about him losing stuff when he doesnt deserve to

Normally they would ask if you need to take anything with you. Maybe you could give them a call and ask if they want you to bring anything?

I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to my boyfriends on Friday so I can make the call when he is there as well. I just want to help him out and I'm guessing stuff like that will help.

We know some dates have been reported so I'm asking for those to get evidence of where I was on the dates, whether that be at his house or mine
