I have this problem and I find a good caking of bleach on the mouldy areas does the trick. It does need to be left for a good few hours though, doesnt work if you just try to wipe it clean with the bleach. Onlt thing I find it that it does come back after a couple of months

I have the same problem with black condensation mould but on the ceiling of my bungalow above the front window. Also on my bathroom ceiling both rooms are exposed north facing and it seems that no matter how well insulated we are, they are both cold spots which attract moisture which immediately condenses. Obviously, my difficulty is how to get something on the ceiling long enough to do its job! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I have black mould on the wall around son's bedroom window - any ideas how to shift it? The wall is painted but I dont mind re-painting over it once I have removed the mouldy deposits.

  • the putty between the plastic and the glass is black on my windows. Can these solutions also be used on mould here? or would it change the colour of it?

I have ended up with several mould patches this year, and all i can put it down to is now we keep the heating on most of the day as i am on maternity leave, whereas last year we were at work, and heating went off earlier as we don't mind snuggling into a blanket, but the baby gets very cold in his cot. I want to sort it before it gets worse.

Hi, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove black mould from the inside of a window (wooden frame). The windows are double glazed, but the bottom of the frames inside are getting black and splitting. in the winter there are a couple that are running with condensation - really bad. They are clean and the windows are left open regularly to ventilate, but cant seem to shift the mould.
  • i always use dettol mould and mildew remover.you can see it working.you can buy it from all the big supermarkets for about £2 a bottle.very good stuff and seems to keep mould away for ages.hope it helps.regards.
