My white upvc window frames are full of mould, have seen some expensive bleach trigger sprays which say they will do the job,but surley I could make some thing which would be cheaper and better?
I have white vinegar, soda crystal, star drops, bicarb and micro fibre cloths!
Any ideas?
They have got in a mess cause I have been going towork early and hubbie does not open the windows when there is consendation on them!
Finish work tomorrow so back to being a SAHM0 -
I recently found some mould on my windows, its horrible
, and I open my windows every day. The only thing that I found to work is to pour neat bleach on it, leave it for 1/2 hour then wipe off, you may need to do this several times, depending on how much mould there is. Make sure you wear rubber gloves though. And give the windows a good rinse after.
Sorry could not work out from your post if you were pregnant, if so, get your hubby to do it, incase you breathe fumes in
.
Good luck xx0 -
Use vinegar on the windows (glass) and buy UPVC (also called PVCu) cleaner from a UPVC Window fabricator (only a couple of quid). The cleaner is slighly abrasive (like a face scrub) and cleans and polishes the PVCu leaving your window frames shiny white.0

Make a paste of bicarb & lemon juice and pat onto the window frame. Leave it for half an hour or so then attack it with an old toothbrush. It usually helps.0

Aww bless you, I did not mean to scare you, probably no harm done, but its better to be safe, I am sure you are both ok x
The black stains have gone from my windows, perhaps you did not leave it on there long enough, get your hubby to have another go x0 -
Hi crockpot,
There's an earlier thread that has some more ideas that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

Open your windows daily once you have cleaned it to keep it at bay!
My bedroom window & this office were horrendous today.
I find a branded mildew cleaner works the best.
Wipe over regularly.
Also I shall be drying out the windows & sills daily.
