Did the chicken balls with sweet & sour last night - DS(21) described it as 'Awesome' so I think that's a hit then.0

Can anyone tell me if there is a naan bread recipe in the book? When I've made them I've used yeast but I've seen a few recipes that don't (they use SR flour instead) and I wondered how the ones in the Indian restaurants are made.0

We had these for lunch yesterday;
first comment from 6yo DD was "your sauce is much better than the other one, Mummy";
second comment was "this chicken is astounding!"
third comment was "does astounding mean good" ! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Overall I think it was a hit. I was amazed at how easy the whole process was- if the supermarket delivery hadn't turned up we'd have been eating in under 30 minutes, which makes it quicker as well as cheaper than the takeaway... :TThey call me Dr Worm... Don't know about any one else but when I make the sweet n sour chicken and fried rice from the book it seems healthier than the local Chinese.0

I'll never forget seeing a chinese couple in Tesco a few years ago pushing around a trolley full of nothing but bags of granulated sugar, there must have been about 50 bags in there.
I remember it not only because of what was in the trolley but wondered why they hadn't gone to the cash and carry for it, it must have been cheaper than Tesco.
The thought that sprung to mind was that it must have been for sweet and sour dishes.0 -
could have been for that weird syrup they put on banana/pineapple fritters too0
