I made the Chicken Kebab... doesn't like anything I know... BUT we thought it tasted great, and tasted like a takeaway!!!
We are going to tweak the recipe slightly next time!! But I think that's personal taste though! We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Well finally made the donner kebab tonight and my ds said it was way better than the take away! I tried a bit of the meat and it tasted lovely. I will make it again, even as just meat loaf as it is compatible with Slimming World red days. Lovely.
We are going to have a go at the naan pizza next.

Lovely pics and glad the recipes are going well for us all.
Did the Beef Chow Mein yesterday but tbh I didn't have all the ingredients. Was a little disappointed with it but will try it again as it was probably my fault.
Today I spent 2 hours doing the basic curry sauce!! It smells delicious and I intend making a couple of different curries over the weekend with it and freezing the remainder for a later date. Will let you know how the curries turn out.
Oh .......... and the book is looking pretty battered already lolI'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun0 -

I was going to look out for some decent lamb too but we may be better off using the value lamb because the bit of fat in there may keep the meat moist whilst cooking.
They say you shouldn't use best mince for burgers because they dry out, this could be the same.0 -

Yeah I was a bit worried that my meat might be a bit too "quality" for the donner but it was absolutely divine. It said it was 20% fat. Not sure if that is low or high as I have not bought lamb in years. There was a lot of fat on the baking sheet so it was ok.
I will be happy to try to value also. Thing is this was actually cheaper than Waitrose own Essential brand so I had to get it.:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
