with BK its not so much about the ingredients but the way the meat is cooked that gives it the flavour, so unless you have a steak grill i think its going to be tricky. A gas fired BBQ is prob the closest you could get, but to crank it up for just one burger might be a bit excessive lol

How about using a George Foreman, that will give them a griddled look.

It gives the look, but not the flavour. You really need coals and flames

Everyone deserves a treat every now and then. It's all about balance! If you can do it from home spending a fraction of the amount then why not?!

Its not all fatty unhealthy junk, the book is about recreating the flavours and taste of takeaway and fast food but you can control what goes in it, and at least you know how it's been cooked. No, it's not a diet but doesn't pretend to be - if you want one of those there's plenty of faddy books out there, prob more unhealthy in the long run than any recipe in this book.

Deep-fried "pie-in-fat" is a common secret, but I once asked my local Chinese chippy owner (a granny who has served 2 generations no less), to dip the already baked Hollands steak pie into the fish batter and then deep-fry it. She thought I was drunk and crazy and refused me! Ok, I was slightly inebriated, but I wasn't crazy... And in the cold light of day I really want to try a Pie Fritter!!! lol! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Mrs Chippy would you entertain such? I think it would taste great between two slices of bread and butter with brown sauce.

    .

Deep fried pies are a staple of the chippy suppers up in Scotland! You can usually choose from a "scotch" pie (essentially mince and gravy), macaroni or chicken curry. I personally find the idea appalling along with deep-fried mars bars and deep-fried pizza. It's also virtually impossible to get a non-deep fried normal sausage North of the Border although you can get the rubbery mattesons-style bratwurst unbattered.
