Ive been in The Works today, I know this book has been sold in there at £1.99 in the past but its now only 99p!!

Picked up 2 copies for Mum in Law and Sis in Law :D

    Aww pants!!!
Just ordered it yesterday off Amazon.

Nevermind, good to know as may buy it for gifts from there.

    Thanks for the info:)
  • Just wanted to add that Kenny said on his Twitter account that the book will be OUT this May! Yippeeee!!
  • But I've lost his original book ..gutted as I want to make a kabob for tea tonight...sigh..wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it was stolen by a friend, covered in goo from past frienzied fakeaways!:rotfl:
  • :( awww I chucked some bags out my freezer this morning,,thought they were spicy pumpkin soup, been there a while and never gonna eat it,,they were bagged in an open container so i tipped them into the bin.
Tonight I decided to get some basic curry sauce out the freezer to make tikka curry tomorrow only to discover I had 5 bags of spicy pumpkin soup!!!!!NOOOOOOOO:eek:
Fished the now defrosted bags of basic curry sauce out the bin shhhhhhhh dont tell dh or the kids! Thankfully they were fine and there was nothing yukky on or around them! Now i have way too much sauce to use  i will make a huge chicken curry and freeze leftovers but not sure i will use it all. I do have prawns in the freezer may have to use them, but dont think i like prawn curry.
Would you just re freeze the sauce? or just use it up?

#3 son made cookies the other day, and added peanut butter (don't know qty's, OH was 'supervising) they were really lush. My sons often make them for 'dessert' and we've perfected the art of cooking them, which involves taking them out when 'done' turning them over and putting them back in the oven for a few mins to make a cookie which is crisp on the outside (top and bottom) and slightly fudgy inside.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

probably a bit late in replying, but I'd have boiled it up & refrozen it :)

at least you knew what it was when it was defrosted, I took something unrecognisable from the depths of my freezer recently & even after it was thawed I'd no idea what it was
  • Well, darn! This site was supposed to help me save money and Ive already forked out for 2 cookery books!!:(
I shouldnt complain though.....since cooking everything from scratch Ive not had a single craving for 'junk' and have kept away from very expensive greasy take aways! I have saved so much money this month (and could easily feed myself from the freezer for another 2-3 weeks).:T
Looking forward to making something more exotic then stir fry or Korma!!:)

frozen, it smelled vaguely of curry & I thought I'd know what it was once it'd thawed

but no, I was still mystified, it was bit like mashed potato, but had an odd texture, as if it had been mixed with gelatine, & had definitely been flavoured with something
but it was so weird & given I'd no recollection of ever cooking it, in the bin it went

it was in a recycled takeaway container, so someone had actually taken the trouble to cook it & box it up, I'm beginning to think one of the kids sneaked it into the freezer to wind me up :D
