  • hugs emsy!! i detest getting bloods done aswell, with me its not the needle its just the thought of them taking it from my body! i dunno its weird and i always cry like a baby, the midwives/nurses never know what to do :rotfl: i just sob until its over. just think, it wont take very long and thats the last bloods you will prob have to give hopefully. personally i think you should treat yourself to a mahoosive slice of cake afterwards, it will make you feel better i promise :D

ive to flippin give mine again aswell on friday and im already thinking of ways to get out of it :rotfl: they r just taking them again because last time i was anaemic. i was told to take 2 iron tablets a day, of course i just ignored them and now im scared they'll shout at me :o should i pretend i did take them or tell the truth?? cos im almost positive my iron levels will be even lower this time argh. but seriously its been worth it not to be constipated!!

dreambirdie - if you lie and say you took them then they might get overly worried that your levels haven't improved and you might end up in a worse situation, having to give bloods every 10 minutes or something!

Yay I thought it was only me that sobbed :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My MW won't even come near me with the lil silver tray with the bits and bobs on.........she's more nervous than I am!!

I have to admit I would tell them if I were you that I had a few but made me constipated......or actually I would try to avoid the actual question :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes I had SPD with my first, but it didn't kick in until about 28 weeks, whereas I've been in serious amounts of pain from 8 weeks this time, although thankfully very little MS whereas I had hyperemesis last time. If its not one thing its another.

I spent about 6 hours in a pool with my first and it was wonderful, I wasn't able to actually deliver in these though as DS was back to back and MW didn't realise until I'd pushed for 2+ hours.

I'd love a water birth again this time, but I'm seriously worried out my pelvis and how bad I was after last time (crutches for 6 weeks) as I've already been on crutches for a fortnight already and don't think I can cope with 18 weeks before and goodness knows how long after with a natural delivery. However the sunroof option absolutely terrifies me. I'm not sure why, completely irrational, 2 of my best mates have had 4 of them between them and one of them is pg with her 3rd and has already booked her elective so it can't be that bad!:undecided
  • good point lillian i dont want them to think theres something serious wrong, il have to prepare myself for a slap on the wrist!!

emsy i swear they hate to see me coming lol. and i have to tell them at the start "please dont talk to me and try to make me feel better it wont. id rather not talk when your doing it" they must think im nuts but i literally cant speak wen its getting done and i hate them asking me stuff while they are doing it so now i pre warn them :) just think this time tomorrow it will be all over and done with.

Delain - check my siggy- not the end of the world, hey you get priority parking :)

Birdie - i would just say i took them, iron tablets don't work for everyone.

Emsy - you'll be fine. my dumb mw failed at taking blood from me so i apparently have to go see the practice nurse but she hates taking blood from me too.

Welshlassie - sunroof terrifies me too. I think its more the epidural TBH

Was feeling low about bloods tomorrow, and I think that was just a symptom of the fact I was feeling low about doing this whole pregnancy-birth-baby thing as a single parent.......UNTIL I thought about some of the threads I have seen on the families board recently.:eek::eek:

Good Lord, better to be going it alone than with the wrong someone.

I ended up with an epidural and spinal last time round (which I think is what caused the extra damage to my pelvis as I therefore couldn't feel my pain limits when they put me in stirrups - a big no no with SPD/PGP), I think it might be more the after care side of it, not being able to lift and carry and drive. I like my independence, although DH will be around for the whole of my maternity leave as he's a SAHD and my close friends are walking distance (and SAHM) I might me ok! Still scared though!

I had SPD with both kids. DD1 I was in agony afterwards, walking, sitting, moving was agony and i was in codein every 4 hours. DD2 spd again delivered and within a few hours i was fine, no pelvic pain at all. few days later i was walking around tesco with a newborn quite the thing. I haven't thought about the after bit just needle in spine....... no way in hell

Dream i have had low iron levels this time and i recommend Spa tone its water that is rich in natural iron i just pop it in a glass of orange juice and it hasnt caused any constipation at all. I know some doctors will prescribe it so it may be worth asking but you can get 3 for 2 at boots at the moment if they wont do a prescription :-)
