at my 36 week scan est weight was 7lbs6oz..........at 39 weeks my community midwife said I was measuring at about 37 weeks, approx 5-6lbs. Er yeah ok with your X-Ray eyes :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I was told by sonographer they can be half a pound out either way......on that basis, bubs is currently 9-10lbs if he has put on half a pound a week.....there are just too many variables to worry about hun
Thanks to you both. It's a very emotive issue. I came home and weighed myself and I have gained exactly 3 stone. Since everyone says I'm "all bump" and DH said the other day "Your @ss hasn't gotten any bigger, just your bump", some of it must have gone to the baby.
What bothered me the most was that I didn't even ask her about the baby's size. I was perfectly happy with movements and my weight and she just felt my stomach and said "I don't think this baby is going to be very big."
I'm feeling a bit less upset about it now.
We are bound to get some baby news soon!0 -
[QUOTE=gratefulforhelp;38340490 Does anyone know if they can tell you the sex at the 34 week growth scan??[/QUOTE]
they were able to tell us that our little 'boy' was doing well.it wasnt written in my notes as i didnt want to know, but DH found out before I did. (he told me at a later date) i knew before the scan but that gave me my confirmation. They generally arent checking then for the sex, but if you hadnt found out before and wanted to know, a nice sonogropher would prob tell you.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
aaaargh! when did everyone go from "fat" to "pregnant"? i feel like such a heiffer, keeping my trousers up with a makeshift button extender but i really don't look pregnant!
also i know i'm too early for this (12 + 5) but when did everyone first feel movement?
cheers!
p.s agree with everyone else ladylegs' baby is lush but how scary is it that we're all gonna have one of those coming out of a hole small enough to hold a tampon??!!:eek:0 -

Was a horse this time so think bubs has changed gender in last 4 weeks. 1st time OH heard the heartbeat and he was overwhelmed. Anyway, it obviously set something off in him cos after we went to town and called into a jewellers to pick something for a friend and he guided me to engagement rings, i tried them on and everything :T. He has a clear idea of what I like and knows my size now. Very chuffed lady today bit must not get hopes up, god knows when/how/if he'll ask me.
Ooh that's exciting news:T:T, and your post also made me chuckle when you mentioned the gender changing:D
Beautiful piccy's Ladylegs:D
And congratulations on team pink Sammy
I just had a wee  moment when I realised I am now just 17th on the list excluding the bold ladies . But on the plus side I finish work on Friday:D:D

I'm at that stage and chose to either look preggers wearing a tight top and a cardy with a pin under the boobage or go for blazer and hide it. I wore pants too tight yesterday so layered up with a bump band and that worked well. Today I wore size 16 () and haven't had to undo all day and got away with it. I am 14+2 though so I'm guessing not long til I cannot get away with it.
Congrats on Molly Ladylegs, she is absolutely adorable. What pain eh?
I've booked my tesco hilton break and am cashing in the rest for 2011 hotel breaks. DH will think it's a bus mans holiday but there's only so many times you can go to Pizza Express! Seems like everybody got theirs today. I think everyone will be going mad ordering their rewards tokens.
Anybody got any advice on cot bumpers? I mentioned to my sister I liked a cot set and she said "you're not getting a bumper are you as they're supposed to be bad?" One minute they're good, the next they're bad. Will there ever be a safe bet?0 -

We will remind you of this!! Sounds a good egg.Krystaltips wrote: »You should talk to Weezl... I know she did it, and it worked well for her from what I recall

Thanks, I know its not crazy important in the scheme of things, but I have acres of girl clothes in the attic...
Cot bumpers...I wouldn't but lots of people do.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Ok, back from making truffles. They are in the fridge and waiting till tomorrow evening when I will shape them and dust in cocoa powder. Feel a bit better now too.
Catw0man and flower 72 I'm glad I'm not the only one who wakes my OH up when I get cramp in my calf and start rolling around in agonyThank's for the bananas tip. Will give them a go and see if they want to stay down this time
Twoflower have been thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
Fairyshazza I had an obstetrics because of my low BMI. It ws all fine. Got asked questions about my relationship with food (which has always been fine), they measured sproglet to make sure growth was ok, listened to the heartbeat and sent me home. I'm now under consultant care until I go into labour, as they want to check on how well sproglet is growing, but they don't think it'll be an issue when I go into labour (less than 3 months to go now  ). I'm sure you'll probably get similar from them.
Sammy can you put me as yellow please. And if I remember correctly it was you asking about Samantha. For me it's light blue, with yellow at the end. My mum has a bit of red around the edges too with it.
Ema O we had problems withneighbours over noise, even though we'd spoken to them about what we were up to and taken round a bottle of wine to appologise in advance. We told em to let us know if we were causing a problem, but they didn't, then just grumbled to us next time they saw us. Not much you can do except be as reasonable as possible. Some people just like to have a moan. You're probably making them happy by giving them something to moan about
grateful I haven't seen that, but will look. It's called synaesthesia. I love having it
dusty how exciting :j
Well, as for me...
I had a quick rant about work earlier, but it was deleted. hey hum. Plenty of asterisks, but no actual swear words. I guess I'm joining the realms of 'bad people'on this thread.
We finally had news today about work. We have been divided into 'groups' and then told how many from each group group were at risk of going. It seems that my department has shot itself in the foot. We've been short-staffed for ages and having to train people up to do the basics that we do. This has ended up with them deciding they can do without some of us as there are nother who can fill in when needed. But they can't, as they can only do the basics, and we're going to lose specialists.
I'm not at risk, so I just feel guilty about all my friends who are at risk. Hence why I'm making truffles to take in to work to try and cheer people up.
Anyway, mammoth post finally over. I think I've caught up with everything. I was lurking a bit till I knew what was happening with work. Don't feel much better now that I know.
Best wishes to everyone, especially with those who've had the patience to read this post :rotfl:If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -
Krystaltips wrote: »If the first pessary sends you straight into labour you might be uncomfortable... But if the midwife thinks you'll need 3 then that might not be likely... Tell them that you'll kick them in the nuts 3 times over 18 hours and see if they still feel up to watching a film or 2
Ha, good advice, me likes :TI need some more labour vibes please!
I was due 30th October and STILL waiting. Had my 3rd "sooty and sweep" (as they will now be referred to - don't like thinking about the stretch bit!) yesterday, and hurrah my cervix is now in right position, 2cm dilated, and 1cm thick. Is that good?!?! I had "the show" too on Monday. TMI??
I am really hoping the little man puts in a natural appearance in the next couple of days, as I'm really not looking forward to an induction.
Anyone else overdue and getting fed up?!?!
Yes very overdue, but not too fed up! I feel like I've been hogging the top of the list for ageeeees:eek:
Induction tomorrow at 3.30, although been told I won't get a bed til 6pm. Reckon its still a late Friday or Sat baby so will still be hogging the top title for a little while. Never been top at much so should make the most of it0 -
Oh forgot to say great photo's Legs - love seeing babies born with dark hair......soooooo cute :-)0

Evening lovelies
Wow some cracking posts on here, smelly fat midwifes, midwifes with boogers up their nostrils LOL
Sammy I was in stiches when I imagines you squishing your poor pooch as you fell over :rotfl: sorry:o! Massive congrats on team pink, very jealous. I wont be able to find out, didn't mind at first but would quite like to when I hear of others finding out.
Dusty fab news! How exciting for you. Sounds like you are feeling bubs too which hopefully is a massive relief for you!!
Hngry what a relief it must be to know your job is safe, but I know how you must feel about your workmates jobs being in jeopardyWhat a lovely idea making truffles for them (fancy passing some my way?
).
Ladylegs what a beautiful little lady you have there, congratulations again!
CL (hugs) hope your feeling less stressed. How many times do they tell mothers to be your baby is very big/very small ahd they get it wrong. Don't worry, if you've got a healthy baby there that's all that matters
Well I am feeling super tired, went swimming and worked really hard, feel good though! It felt very weird coming out of the pool though, it was like I had gained about 4 stone in 40mins lol, goodness knows what it will feel like when I am further on!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0
