Daughter is 33 weeks pregnant and has been feeling really breathless lately and she mentioned to the midwife yesterday that she feels as if her heart is pounding out of her chest. She examined her and said it was beating at a high rate and sent her to the pregnancy assessment unit at the hospital for to be checked out, where she spent most of yesterday. Midwife had measured her at being 35 weeks but the hospital measured her at being 39 weeks. They took her bloods and she had an ECG which was borderline (neither of us were sure what that meant) and a scan. Even after resting for an hour at the hospital reading a magazine her heart beat was still racing. They measured the baby which was 4lb 4oz and told her she is not carrying too much fluid. She had a feeling they would keep her in ,but sent her home and told her to rest. Easy said than done when you are running your own business. When she mentioned to the midwife her last day at work would be 11th December....she told her there would be no way she would still be working then.
When they said she was measuring 39 weeks.... I had visions of her coming home with the baby !!
Still concerned about my daughter...just walking from the car to our front door, a matter of yards and she says she can feel her heart pounding in her chest. She says she is not stressed in any way for to bring this on and she will mention it again when she sees the midwife on Wednesday. I think I have it in the back of my mind that her grandma has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (heart trouble) and it can be hereditary. Just wondering if any of you ladies late on in pregnancy is experiencing a heartbeat that is racing ?0 -

I do. has 3 night in hospital at about 8 weeks with it. Apparently it can be hormonal and as a result of the extra blood in the body the heart works harder plus the extra weight the body hasn't adjusted too. All I do is try take it as easy as possible, weird feeling but been nothing really for me.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

It's such a lovely feeling isn't it? You sometimes forget your pregnant, then a wee flutter, you never feel alone.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Evening bumps, have been MIA most of this week, so expecting to log in and see a lot more movement on the list - but some stubborn babies out there. Congratulations to ladylegs though.
Have had a really hectic week as it was the lead up to Diwali so DIY, house cleaning, shopping and preparing for last night's party - leaving me zombiefied today! Also had my Anti-D jab appointment on Wed, which coincided with the tube strike so had to manage the over-crowded, crawling bus service too. Figured I'm going to turn over a new leaf from next week and really focus on me in the 10 week count down to EDD. So eat well, rest up, start reading my hypnobirthing book and preparing for the arrival (as we've bought next to nothing so far).We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
:mad::mad::mad::mad: ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH. That's it I give up. Stupid ebay person is making my life a misery. She's just going round in circles. I escalated it to Paypal to deal with. Put my facts across and I'll just accept whatever decision they make. Just want it over with now. Stupid biatch. It's just not worth my time. If she wasn't so rude I would have just got her to send back the item and I'd pay for that postage too, but I just feel like it's the principle of the thing now. Worst case paypal will make me pay her 2 lots of postage and refund the item? Meaning I lose £14.
Never again. I'm done with ebay. Think I'll stick to car boot sales.
Right need to calm myself down now. And breathe...Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Have been a-lurking, but not able to catch up on all.......
Congrats to Ladylegs!!
I thought I would share a funny visit from earlier this week. Went to visit OH's aunt who is almost 80. She asked how we were getting on with re-organising house/baby room and I said, oh well at first I expect baby will sleep in a little crib next to our bed. She was totally shocked by this and, even when I said maybe it was different in her day, she insisted that no-one did that ("Do they do that in England?? I've heard they do that in Turkey...").
She was also telling me that when she was 7 months gone (I guess this was early 60's), a sort of health visitor/inspector would come round the house and you had to lay out all your baby stuff so they could make sure you had everything. This was Holland though, my Mum and Gran have never mentioned anything about people doing that in the UK.
Then she regaled me with the story of how my MIL went into labour with my BIL, called the doctor who said, don't worry ages to go. Of course it wasn't, so MIL called OH's aunt in panic, she rushed round and had to hold the top of the baby's head in until the doc managed to get back there.
Ahhh, thems were the days.....
In the 70's my mother was kept in from 36 weeks till she gave birth 5 weeks later due to being a "nervous mother":rotfl:AKA: PC

ooh I feel a small sense of victory (although trying not to get too excited). After escalating the dispute I got to select from different options about what I was offering. I selected the full refund on return of the item and it says in the note sent to her "To receive this refund, the buyer must return the item to you in the same condition as it was received. The buyer is responsible for the cost of returning the item to you."
Surely she can't argue with that?!Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Has your daughter made her MW aware of the family history?
No, I have told her to mention it on Wednesday, I will have to write it down for her as its such a mouthful. Wednesday seems so far off. Her grandma has a pacemaker.
I suppose it is hard to relax, when you have 3 other children and a family wedding coming up next weekend and its her first year in business, but she has took on extra help. Maybe she's stressed without realising it !0 -
Giz, paypal will make her pay to return it. They'll also ask her for proof that she's returned it...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
