Dopplers............any good? any good deals?0
-
Dusty, I heard that dopplers weren't that great an idea as it is difficult to pick up the right sound, especially at our relatively early stage. I think I read that either people hear nothing and panic, or pick up the wrong sound.
Having said that, I'm sure I've seen some in TK Maxx recently if you want to pick one up cheaply.
I often have the same thing with not feeling pregnant, but after my appointment yesterday my bump feels bigger and it just feels more real so note I am not copying you any moreI keep rubbing my bump or just sitting there with my hand on it
Have been quietly giggling at Teenie trying to stop baby exposing her - my friends little un started pulling at my top but was swiftly turned to face the other way!!0 -
Excuse the rant.......
We are just back from the hospital where I should have seen my consultant about my elective section. Turns out he was not there and I was given a leaflet and told to come back next week.
I am so F****** angry and upset I can't even begin :mad:If you can think it........it will happen0 -

I have one and its fab, not a really cheap one though, its a hi bebe bt 200 fetal doppler with an lcd screen which shows you the heart beat. I've been using it since about 13 weeks and never had a problem finding the heartbeat as even if you're not sure your listening to your pulse or baby's heartbeat, you can figure it out by the rate on the screen.
To be honest though, i don't really use it anymore as i'm carrying an active little beggar ;-)
tinkwings, that must be so frustrating. Did they give you a reason why he/she wasn't there? I don't think they understand how stressful it is to go these appointments at hospital, paying parking fees, taking time off work etc:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

HUGS tink - that's shocking, they could've at least told you he wasn't going to be ther beofre you set off.
thanks for the doppler guys. I think I just want it for reassurance until I feel the movements. Some of the cost though
Would be great to find someone willing to let me borrow theirs.
Ha ha Ema, I spent the first few days after my 16wk appt rubbing my bump too, sadly I think I have rubbed it away as it isn;t there anymore. I wore my new dress today which I specifically bought to show off the bump and have made a huge error. I look fat and not PG. Most people at work know but for those that don't
I'll keep looking at the dopplers then, even if I could hire one for the next month or so that would be good. May have a route on ebay too.0 -

Thanks, you've got 2 weeks, I'm not changing the date now, I'm getting used to it and it'll be quite an easy one to remember.
Emsy hope the sweep went ok, fingers crossed it gets things going x
Tinks how rubbish, they could have let you know tut tut hospital. I would be fuming too. In fact I'd have probably burst into tears at the hospital if they did that to me, stupid hormones. I hope there was a really good reason he wasn't there.
I have a 36 week appointment with my midwife on tuesday 9th nov, is there much point in this or should I cancel it? I'd quite like to go, my midwife is fantastic I just don't get to see her much being consultant led but I don't really have any questions and don't want to be wasting her time. Not sure what is best.0 -
