I have a question. I went to see my midwife last night for the results of my bloods and it turns out my blood group is A Rhesus D Negative which isn't as common and I need to have Anti D injections? Can anyone shed any light on this?
Hi SG. Hope the new job is good.
I'm A Rhesus Neg. You'll get one injection at 28 weeks (it used to be 2 at 28 and 34wks). I went to the maternity unit at the hospital for it and was told to feel something like a "bee sting" but I honestly didn't feel much at all, just a cold sensation for a second or two. It didn't hurt. They will make you an appointment.
You have a 2nd injection after the birth IF your baby has different blood group.0 -

I feel awfulgirls have very kindly shared their sick bug with me.... and the baby keeps kicking me in the stomach
:(:( -thank goodness DH is on holiday - although not much of a holiday for him
Does anyone know - if I am not keeping any food down does it affect the baby much? DH very worried and wants me to phone the doctors - I am managing to keep a fluid intake up and I am not constantly throwing up - just struggling to eat much. Not much of one for going to the docs me!
Hope everyone else is feeling ok
When I had a tummy bug (both ends) at the weekend NHS direct said that water is the most important thing as baby can use fat stores (if you have any) to keep going. If after 12 hours you are unable to keep fluids down for 1 hour they advised to get a Dr out to prescribe an anti-emetic and rehydration salts. I didnt eat for 36 hours and when I started it was just toast or mash potato (as per NHS suggestion).

Thank you so much Tickle - I am able to keep fluids down - only actually been sick a few times, I have plenty of fat stores to keep baby well fed :rotfl:. I have managed a slice of toast - just hope it stays there! Being sick with a baby belly is really not easy. That info will keep DH happy. Just hope now I feel better tomorrow - we are heading down south for a couple of days and was really looking forward to hitting Ikea!

Good to see you have it too - in a nice way!! I understood that it could cause complications for future pregnancies but wasn't sure how it would affect this one.
Job is going good thanks. Struggled to get up this morning as it was so bloomin cold!!! I def can't do more than 2 days a week - think it will finish me off lol.
Right, must get some work done.
Catch up with you lovely ladies later xx
Ooh, I had a dream last night that I majorly queue jumped and Fuzz threw a proper b!tchy wobbler. Lol.0 -

My Oh was panicky too, but I pointed out that with the fat stores I have baby would be well fed even if I didnt eat throughout the whole pregnancy lol. Fingers crossed it clears up asap!DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

I thought that too. I think that there is a tiny chance of blood to blood contact from mother to baby so it is precautionary. I had it as I mc-ed before so this is officially my 2nd preg.

Tink, Sorry to hear you're in so much pain and not surprised you can't sleep.
Have you got the back up of the physiotherapist to support an elective or is it purely down to the consultant?
Thanks for the nice comments after I was effectively forgotten by my friend yesterday. I haven't contacted her as I'm still a bit annoyed. I hoovered and straightened my hair for goddsake. :rotfl:
Right, I'm off. Hopefully to give birth.;) Have a good day ladies xx
