    I have a question

I had always said that if I had a kid I would do the baby signing with it......has anyone else done this and if so did you find it helpful.....I mentioned it to my SIL and she laughed in my face :(

I used Makaton with Oliver, because I'd learned it at work, plus they use it on Something Special, which is aimed at older children with learning difficulties, but goes down well with little ones too.

He was slow to get the hang of it, but he was slow to start talking too, so I think that was just him. He is chatty now, and as his speech is improving, the signs are dropping away. I did find it helped, and I will use it with this one too, but I am not as fanatical as some about it. One thing that I do find, now that he is talking, is that if he says a word and I can't make out what he is trying to say, I can ask him to do the sign as well, and it helps me to understand which word he's trying for! Saves frustration all round.

Thank you Chakani I really want to be able to understand my child as best I can and have watched my sister struggle with her wee boy who probably would benefit from baby sign but she won't try it...at the same time I won't be laughing at her and saying I told you so. My SIL told me I would be wasting my time as the child would talk when ready....with her I will be sticking my tongue out and going neh neh neh neh neh nehhhhhh just because I know she would not take it to heart lol

Had my 20 week scan today, all's good with Boris (thats what other half has named him-it will NOT stick!) they confirmed he is a boy. Saw him opening his mouth, looked like he was talking, was really cute.
He's been really fidgeting around today, can feel him now booting my tummy. Love feeling him though :)

Nearly a whole wek without being sick. Nearly..... :(
It was too good to last I suppose. Still feeling sick, and wondering how I'm going to manage the journey home.

When do we see scan pics jojo? showmeshowmeshowme :p

Off to have some more bagel and see if that helps. Work has indeed been busy, and stil is.

ps no it didn't help. now I fear that my stomach just has a little more ammo to fire :(
