There were so many chances to take a better picture...

Tell me about it- OH nearly went off the rails at sonographers at both 12 and 22 week scans when he saw the pictures they'd taken. Didn't help the one at 22wks had also told him off for coming in the room smelling of cigarettes.
:rotfl::rotfl:This is hubbies biggest fear with me being off too:D Once I've got the moses basket and stand(which I wasn't going 2 bother with but DH talked me into it:)) I'll be buying essentials ONLY! do we think those are 'famous last words'? :rotfl:

What are people counting as essentials? The lists you've all been posting seem huge compared to what we're planning on, my list is:

Travel system (buggy, pram, carseat) (bought by my parents)
Crib and mattress (bought by my aunt)
Cot bed (being made by OH)
Nappies (reusables to be sorted once I start ML)
Blankets (mostly second hand from family members- including the ones I had as a baby. New ones are ones being made by my sister and OH's entire family- sisters, cousins, aunts, mother, grandmother, nieces)
Sheets (also being made by OH's family)
Hats, cardigans, booties (also being made by sister and OH's family)
    Babygros (donated by family friend)
Sleeping bag (I do have one thing to buy!)
Nursing bras (I have one, need a couple more)
    Baby wipes and cotton wool.

Think my sister's buying a bouncer too.

ash I think some lists seem huge but then it depends what you list and what you just get, you are missing things like breast pads, will you use a baby bath, bath support or just the sink? Will you use a changing mat? OH sister just used an old towel on the floor but I know after my c-section i'll be best off using a mat on a changing unit, luckily DS chest of drawers top converts into a changing table.

Also some people are doing up a complete nursery but since mine will eventually be sharing with DS I don't need to worry about co-ordinating curtains and bedding etc.

It's a tricky thing. This is most definitely my last child. My sister will never have children. So this is really it as far as small peeps go for my family. :p

Therefore, yes I have been extremely fortunate to have more items bought than most-parents are (now-not at the start!) excited about grandson, and my sis is an utterly adoring aunt. :D

Additionally, I had shocking PND/PTSD after DD, and have perhaps bought things that will make my life easier, bearing in mind I am flying solo with this one :o

So "essential" is different for everyone. I say buy what you can afford and be comfortable with your decisions. :D

Oh my Gawd get this bubs out I'm gettin all deep man :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So 1st day of ML, still in my jammies:D and already bored:eek: and the ILs have called already to ask 'how you feeling? any twinges?' !!!!!! I aint due for almost 2 weeks:eek: think they're gonna end up annoying me:o shouldn't be so ungrateful I suppose, just wish they had full-time jobs so they couldn't annoy me so much:p:rotfl:

    Sounds VERY familiar. :p
I've been getting lots of family calls lately as I stupidly teased Mum about not wanting to disturb anyone if I go into labour and doing it on my own at home. Never ever do this!!!! You get more attention. I was joking, people.

  • 24 weeks today :j

Obviously sproglet is happy about this and keeps punching me to remind me that they're still there.

Someone at work had nicknamed it Combamina after a project that's due to finish just before I leave :rotfl:

Right, back to work. Got a busy busy week this week I think, so may not get much chance to read or post.

Best wishes for all who need them.

fuzz and ladylegs - haven't you popped yet is the question I get asked by at least 5 members of staff every night at work, then the customers start. One person has even taken to saying every time I see her do you mind if I try to hear the heartbeat, I told her she would never be able to hear it but would she take no for an answer eeekkk. At least she isn't in again before I'm off.
