Could people stop posting the due date list please?? It just reminds me that I'm moving up it at a rather alarming rate!:eek::eek: :rotfl:
Congratulations on the new arrivals :j
And HUGE labour vibes to the overdue ladies.
Second day of maternity leave and I'm bored alreadyYesterday wasn't too bad as I had shopping to do and also met DH for a pub lunch near his work, but nothing exciting on the cards today. I think I now have everything I need for my hospital bag after yesterday's shopping trip, so I'll probably get that packed today. I have a list of jobs to do, but certainly not enough to keep me occupied for 4 weeks til my due date. I think part of the problem is because I work from home so my routine hasn't changed like it would if I'd worked in an office somewhere. I feel guilty that I'm in the house and not working, like I'm skiving
Fuzz, did your MW say how far engaged you were? Mine said I was 3/5 engaged when I saw her on Friday, but didn't say anything about Flump arriving early. (And everything is firmly crossed for your Mum, hope all goes well for her today)You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
My computer went weird, so appologies if there's half a post from me on there!
Fuzz - will keep your mum in my thoughts today.
Just been cheered up at work. I thought I only had a couple of days hol left, but I have 10, and I'm only working till just after christmas. :j I'll be having some time off then pleaseIf having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -

My daughter is now 28 weeks and has been having terrible pain in her pelvis and was referred to the hospital for an hour appointment, but when she got there found it was a class for backache. She sat all the way through it thinking....but I have n't got backache and on her way out approached the lady taking the class...who has made her an appointment, so hopefully she gets the treatment she needs pretty soon.0

Has anyone, or is anyone planning to take part in a milk donation scheme?
There is a poster up in the midwife's office at the moment saying they are setting a scheme up at our local hospital for breastfeeding mums to donate milk to be given to babies in the SCBU.
I breastfed last time for 14 months and frankly could have kept a calf well supplied, so I am thinking it might be a good thing to do, but I'd love to know if anyone has already done it and how much of a tie it was? It's the sort of thing I'd love to think someone would be willing to do for my children.
I believe they want the milk to be frozen and they then collect once a week or so, but I'm not sure if they supply bags or a pump, or how much extra freezer space would be required.
I have just done this for the second time. When I had DS 8 years ago, I was literally gushing milk! I hated seeing it all wasted so I got some breast shells and collected it from one side while DS fed on the other. The hospital gave me a bag full of small bottles, and some stickers to label them with the date. They also gave me a pump, which I didn't need! A woman came to collect them.
With DD 6 years ago I wasn't producing half as much, so I didn't donate.
This time with DS I thought I'd give it another go. I got the bottles again from the hospital, there was no pump this time. They don't take up much room in the freezer, but I have to take them in myself this time. I've stopped it now as there's just not enough to make it worthwhile. It wasn't a tie while it was just flowing out, but now I'd have to pump and I honestly don't think I'd have the time.
I might go and drop them off today, thanks for the reminder!
I love the feeling that my milk will be helping the tiny babies in SCBU. It's such a good thing to doxxx
:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -
