Hi all, hoping I can get some advice...so on Sat at 32+2 my waters went! Bit of a shock, and went to hosp, they kept me in overnight, no signs of labour but have had steroid shots to help the babys lungs in case it comes quickly. Am also on antibiotics to help if there is any infections.

Have been sent home and have to go in twice a week for tests (or sooner if anything happens). Just wanted to see if anyone knew anyone in my postion...or had it happen to them?

I do know someone who had babe at 24 weeks, he is now 6 and completely fine.

    Hello pregnant ladies

Hopefully someone can put my mind at rest - I'm 9 weeks today and I've just had a massive blob of clear jelly-like discharge when I went to the loo - is this familiar to anyone and is it anything to worry about? It was entirely clear, no red or brown tinges.

I'm worrying as DH and I DTD for the first time yesterday since my BFP and now I'm feeling paranoid...

    Thanks girls

    xDx

Deb I have had this a few times. It kind of reminded me of a thick EWCM and looked pretty similar to what I would occasionally get whilst ttc. I read that apparently even after you get pregnant your body can still produce EWCM around the times that you would normally be ovulating which would fit in as I notice it seems to be every few weeks that it happens to me. Maybe that is what it is?

I wouldn’t worry too much as BudgetBlonde says as long as there isn’t any bad smells, colour, itching or pains it could be just normal discharge.

Anyone got suggestions on good places to shop for maternity stuff... know this isn't MS, but I can't go through pregnancy in leggings and one pair of trousers held together with a laggy band!!

Matalan do a maternity range now and when I popped in to my local store they had quite a few jeans available. I ended up buying two pairs of black trousers as I don't do jeans - am wearing a pair for the first time today and they are SO comfortable and they were only £14 a pair too. May be worth looking there? :)

Has anyone, or is anyone planning to take part in a milk donation scheme?

There is a poster up in the midwife's office at the moment saying they are setting a scheme up at our local hospital for breastfeeding mums to donate milk to be given to babies in the SCBU.

I breastfed last time for 14 months and frankly could have kept a calf well supplied, so I am thinking it might be a good thing to do, but I'd love to know if anyone has already done it and how much of a tie it was? It's the sort of thing I'd love to think someone would be willing to do for my children.

I believe they want the milk to be frozen and they then collect once a week or so, but I'm not sure if they supply bags or a pump, or how much extra freezer space would be required.
  • Hi everyone, baby Alex was born on 23rd at 2.27 pm, weighing 6lb 9oz. He is so cute. I got discharged from hospital yesterday.

Have been feeling up and down since friday, feeling quite low at times which im finding difficult. Am at high risk of postnal depression, but hoping that its baby blues.

Am breastfeeding which im finding hard at night as not getting much sleep as for example, last night he woke up at 11.30 for a feed and was feeding till one, then he wanted feeding five minutes later so was feeding till 5.00. Ended up expressing some milk as it is painful to feed.

Congrats to all the new mummys.

Huge congratulations MS12 - those first few weeks are so exhausting, however wonderful your baby is. It does get better though, I promise!

Can we have a picture when you feel up to it please? :D

Oh, and ETA, perfect timing for baby blues - about 5 days after. I convinced myself I was going to get PND with DS, but didn't, it might just be fine xxx

Congratulations MS12 on baby Alex. Hopw to see some pics soon :)

Fuzz - congrats to you too on being engaged :D I reckon your bubs will be early - you queue jumper you!!

Gah, I'm really p1ssed off with Currys. Ordered dishwasher over a week ago with delivery date of today. Driver just called me and said he can deliver it but he can't install it. I've paid for the installation. !!!!!!. He clearly wants to knock off to go home and I'm stuck with no machine. Their Customer Services is rubbish said the earliest they can reschedule is Wednesday - not even tomorrow. I'm def going to fire off a strongly worded letter - not so much as an explanation or an apology :mad::mad:

    Rant over

    :(

Congratulations MS12 on the safe arrival of baby Alex, Hope the feeding gets easier for you!! :j

Ema - maternity clothes - I found for trousers i had to go down a size so they would stay up but had the comfy elastic that i could wear. I found Asda, Matalan, Next and Dorothy Perkins best - oh and also the Red Herring range in Debenhams were really good and i went in the sale so got some great bargins. The only problem with going down a size in trousers in the begining meant that by about 32 weeks i needed to buy a few bigger pairs, but some of them stretched with me.:rotfl:

I cant believe that my due date is nearly over and i havent had as much as a twinge. bubs is very quiet:( I really want a natural birth if i can, but the bigger bubs gets the more unlikely its looking:(

Asda have just changed their collection, so there is loads of maternity stuff on the sale racks.
  • I got some lovely maternity jeans (under bump) and lots of tops from la Redoute and Vertbaudet, there are always lots of money off vouchers and freebies to be had with any orders. I was in our local matalan yesterday and had a choice of 1 pair of pyjamas, 1 style of vest top and one type of leggings - GREAT!!
  • moneysaver congratulations! Hang in there, the breastfeeding will come good, and get support with it sooner rather than later. Do you have numbers to call?

Its hard to feel normal with no sleep, but let your m/w or h/v know if your mood is very low.

Lots of hugs, and Well Done!
