Hi again!
Love looking at all the all the pics - I'm 20 weeks on Wed and have the scan next Monday!
Well, I thought I'd share how the doc appt went, seeing as you ladies might appreciate it (rampaging hormones+pain and discomfort...:o)
The doc was fine - said no danger to baby, all fine there. Varicose veins are surface ones, so the deep ones are not affected. They are quite bad so I'll have to have them treated, but not til after the pregnancy. He's alerted the gynaecologist just in case. Apparently the uterus can push on a major vein (vena cava or something??) which is why you should try to sleep on the left side. He said that maybe the baby will change position and the pressure will let up... or maybe not! He then sent me to the in-house pharmacy for proper support bandages.
So then, after waiting ages in the queue, the pharmicist looked mightily confused at my note from the doctor, consulted with a colleague, decided that they couldn't give me bandages for varicose veins for some reason, tried and failed to contact one of the many doctors in the building, faffed for ages with the box of bandages..
At this point I said - I don't mind, just give me what you've got, I'll buy it off prescription, I just need something NOW...
She faffed yet more and then said I have to make an appt and go to a specialist place on the other side of the city.
Anyway, by this point I'd really had enough, was already quite teary and always end up crying when I'm angry
When she finally said (with pathetic helpless look) that she couldn't even sell me a bandage, I grabbed my bag and managed to limp out of the place before bursting into tears on the pavement!:o:mad::o
Anyway, just had a driving lesson which managed to take my mind off everything! (sitting doesn't hurt too much)
And on the plus side, it all hurts much less since getting up! So I'm now calming down!
And sorry for the rant!0 -

You can't unless the baby has been born. That's for SMP though - maybe she only qualified for MA and just finished work when she felt like it!! They won't pay her MA though until 29 weeks.

Or maybe she is taking all her holiday until 29 weeks then starting her maternity, my maternity doesn't technically start till 31st oct but I keep telling people its 21st because I won't be in work after that.0
