After last week's stampede in my local store, they have just advised that:
We will have more stock of the booster seats from Thursday
28th September.
So, if any of you missed out last time, check your local Netto next week as they are selling them again at £2.99
Welshy xOfficial Insert:
When you buy a car seat, don't forget to check that it meets the “UN ECE Regulation 44.03” standard; look for a label showing an "E" and "44.03" or ".03".
Stores often run out quick and not all have the same quantity. To save a possible wasted journey it's worth ringing customer services (0845 6000 200) first to double check there'll be stock in your store.

So on a slightly different tack, what happens when young kids under the height restriction go on a school outing by coach?
Yes, the coach may well have seat belts, but what happens about the booster situation?0 -

Its possible coaches are excluded from this regulation.0

Coaches are a lot safer than cars because of their size and statistically there are far fewer injuries (per passenger mile) on buses and coaches than in cars.
That's why there was no requirement for seat belts in coaches for a long time, until recently.0 -
Loads of people think they can get away with booster cushions - worth noting that under 6s have to have a proper seat with a back. Which means I have to go out and buy another one as I bought my 4 year old a booster seat (bottom only) to replace the car seat I gave to my 2 year old as his old one doesn't fit in my new car. Didn't realise it wouldn't be good enough, and my 4 year old will hate me when I make him go back into a "baby" seat as we persuaded him to give the other one to his younger brother as we were giving him a "big boy" seat!!!0

friend is having difficulty finding booster chairs. told her to get it weeks ago but like others ignored me. seen her on the road with the daughter crouched low
Is the 11 yr old under 135cm? I would have said doesn't matter how chubby she is...if she is under 135cm she would get fined if caught (the mother, not the daughter!!!)- my 7 year old doesnt feel "comfortable" on a booster seat, but he's still in one!! My 9 year old is over height, but if he was under, I believe that he would be exempt as my 4 year old and 7 year old in the booster seats, and a 3rd one would not fit in my car!0 -
i have 3 children...5,7 and 9.i cant get 3 boosters in the back as i have only a citroen c3.However..i feel uncomfortably using the front seat for my eldest on a booster(air bag on pasenger side).Anyone know what 2 do for the best?shove all 3 in the back...eldest without booster or put 2 in the back and eldest in the front on booster0

Tesco's are stopcking boosters for £9.99.
Im still amazed at the last minute nature of people buying the car seats. I, and many others, heared about the law change back in March. The law was meant to originally change in May.
About buses - Buses are exempt (dad manages a bus company!), the rules are that the parent and bus driver ar to ensure the child is trapped in before it leaves the bus stop. My sons mini bus has the product mentioned earlier - the autosafe.0 -

on some cars you can have the front passenger airbag disconnected. if in your case you can't then if i was in your place i would move the seat back as far awayfrom the airbag but remember to allow leg space for the one behind the passenger seatProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way
