Van with trailer and digger parked on road!

This is the kind of nonsense I get where I live. I drive old bangers, and one neighbour (police officer) pops up at least once a month on-duty to "go over" my car.I think the best thing for me to do is try and stay out of it! The ringleader neighbour is on the otherside of the man with a van, I can see why he gets cross as he often has his driveway blocked. The van man just tells him if he needs to get out of his drive at night, to give him a knock! He is a retired guy with quite alot of time on his hands, but he shouldn't be blocked in on his own drive, by a vehicle that isn't really allowed to be there!
Maybe if he was blocking me in I would be crosser!
It's absolute pettyness, guys got a van, get over it. I find barking dogs offensive, but my neighbour has a dog, as is his right..... I deal with it.
This really boils my p**s this attitude, if the thing is road legal, there should be NOTHING anybody can do about it.

If he is indeed blocking your neighbour in then he's parking illegally because its causing an obstruction.I think the best thing for me to do is try and stay out of it! I've had this nonsense from a neighbour, frankly the only reason he see's it as an obstruction is because his driving is so awful. I have the driving skill to be able to reverse park (which I have done every time I've parked since I passed my test about a million years ago....) He drives "nose first" onto his drive, which is his problem not mine, if he reveresed onto his drive, he wouldn't have the issue. If he is indeed blocking your neighbour in then he's parking illegally because its causing an obstruction.
Just because he hasn't got the driving ability, not my problem, everybody else can't see my parking as an obstruction, only the old guy.
Anyway, I'm "chuntering" my point is, is he "really" causing an obstruction, or is your neighbour seeing a 1% encroachment over their driveway as an obstruction?

some folk really have very little to worry them in life. a van and a diger on a trailer is not the end of the world. and how it could be called an eyesore i don't know. what do you do when your driving and a van with a digger in a traler is within your sight? do you scream in agony as your eyes melt?
seriously get a life. i would be happy to have a guy with a digger next door, just think how handy that would be when your doing up the garden....work permit granted!0 -
As a guess the weight limit on the deeds will be for things like the front half of an Arctic or a Tractor. Many people have a works van\large pickup as company vehicles so they won't be excluded. The real issue here is the trailer, which being towed by a Transit won't be too heavy either. All the guy has to do is un-hitch it and the weight reduces for the combined vehicle.
If he is blocking a neighbours drive then he is in the wrong permission or not.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -
Does the neighbour not have a driveway he can use? Or does he use other vehicles too?0

Yes he is causing an obstruction! This older guy can't get off his driveway! Its a small qul-de-sac and all houses have a drive, there is only one space van man can park in without causing an obstruction, if when he gets home somebaody else has parked there, he parks it outside his own house (2 cars on drive for him and his wife already) and as its so long, it blocks the other elderly mans drive. He wouldn't be able to get off wihtout van man moving it. This van with trailer must be about 3 cars length long.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Of course it can be called an eyesore, the road looks like a construction site! We all paid a fair sum for our homes and were made perfectly aware of the clauses and rules (there are several silly ones, be we abide by them) Its a small, neat cul-de-sac and this van and trailer is huge.
I do have a life thanks, I was just didn't want to get stuck in the middle.
I don't how people on here can be so in favour of somebody who buys a house knowing he won't be allowed to park his works verhicle, then breaks this rule, and blocks another neighbour on his drive. But its obvious, we have the problem, not him!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Maybe a solution could be that the neighbours in the cul de sac agree not to park in the only space that is big enough for him then.Square it with the neighbours then put it to the guy with the trailor. It surely has to be better all round.0 -

You keep saying it doesnt bother you in your previous posts but clearly it does bother you. If it does bother you that much then give your neighbours your backing and sign their petition instead of standing on the sidelines.0
