It's a good job this is a diet that I actually like - I lost quite a bit of weight about four or five years ago
If you don't mind me asking, do you do anything special or is it just common sense healthy eating?OK... here's the picture of today's cupcakes
They look amazing! DS2 and I visited a local 'heritage centre' on Wednesday, where there's a new shop specialising in cupcakes. I walked in and realised that I know the owner, so got a nice discount. I was a bit disappointed, though, as the flavours could have been stronger (rum and raisin, choc orange). Yours look so much more professional, too.
I didn't get round to reading my book - did a bit more decluttering in DS2's room instead. Got to start getting ready now, so I'm not on the last push just for once. Night all.0 -

Hello everyone - I hope you have all had a good week?
Serena, I liked your post about apricots. We came back from France today but had no free space at all because I took Dusty's advice and squeezed wine into every available space. We saw the most wonderful copper jam making pan but at 35 euros and a lot of space I couldn't have it. My apples, pears and plums are all starting to colour up nicely so it would have got lots of use as well.
DH has been offered a job whilst we were away :j. Not entirely sure he wants it but it means we can afford to eat and pay the mortgage and other boring but essential stuff. Perfect timing because he will be formally issued with his notice this week. If I had known I would have bought that copper pan.....
Lovely to come back to a clean house. I need to keep on top of it now.

Lovely cakes Greenbee
Good to see you over here Dizzy, and hello to all of the newbies.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Glad you all like the cupcakes. I'm hoping my cousin's fiancee likes them and wants something similar for her wedding in a couple of weeks' time. She's been making cake stands today out of old plates and teacups bought in junk shops (she's already made her own bunting to decorate the garden for the wedding... I think she'll probably be able to sell both things on ebay when she's on maternity leave in a couple of months)
In the meantime, if any of you are passing in the next couple of days, this lot need eating (or I'll just keep them in the cupboard as demos... they go hard rather than mouldy).
Top tip from today's class - if you want flat cupcakes (or cakes) put enough mixture in for them to rise to the top of the cupcake case/tin, take them out when they're just done (so very pale) and if they've peaked (less likely if you use marge rather than butter) slap a baking tray on top of them and press down for 30 seconds, then leave it there.
Kitchen and utility room are now superficially clean and tidy. And not particularly sticky.
ETA - good to see serena and hex back safely from France. Hope you both had lovely holidays. Oh... and great news on the job offer for OH hex... hope it works out0 -
Hex glad you're following my sound plans - I saw a jam set too (bet it was the same one) but it was an indulgence of money and space we could ill afford. Hope you all had a restful time and great news about DH, he'll be back at work before the honeymoon period of being at home wears off
Triker and PenPen missing you both and hoping you and yours are ok.
Pooh lovely to see you back and glad all your boys are home. Good luck with the business
Vanilla - hope hubbie stuck to his promise re coming home, hugs sweetie
Only flying I've managed today is tidying the kitchen and various lots of washing up. Did declutter loads of furballs from Pickle cat.
Off to bed soon, I'll sprawl out with DH away for a week.
