I need to report that emailing jkane@mobiles.co.uk has been a HUGE SUCCESS. I've had extremely prompt responses since sending my email and posting on here - to say my claim is acknowledged, it has been approved for payment and I also got an apology for the problems experienced.

Thank you jkane, and thank you mobiles.co.uk! Credit where credit is due!
Hi Lima,
Glad to see it's got sorted

So did Jennie give you a reason as to why you had to submit your bill 4 times ?

Did she explain why you had to spend an hour and a half on the phone without being able to speak to anyone ?

Did she explain why you had to resort to emailing a rep before anything happened ?

Did she mention why she hasn't been on here for a while to answer the questions that have been asked ???

Something I've started to notice recently is that when the problems finaly get sorted out by having to go to extreme lengths to solve them people are so releived to get their money they seem to forget how bad the CS is ;)

But then you are here to remind everyone - do you use mobiles.co.uk?

• Actually, why don't we all jump to recommend this dealer? After all, IT now proudly states "No other online mobile phone retailer offers such fast payment!" Wow - how reassuringly UNtrue (yet again!!).

Look like they've managed to find "Ben" a new role - scriptwriting!

Perhaps he will ask his mate Bill to help

I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!
• Ah... you remember my reference, which also got attacked at the time! Reminds me of another of their pronouncements (this time on here) - about them being the "fairest dealer on the web".... perhaps they were thinking of one belonging to an eight-legged creature which was lurking between the pots...
• Hi after trying to send my bill for the last two months on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! website and continually coming up with no response. I emailed their customer care helpline to seek assistance. Again I have not had any response to the emails even though I have had acknowledgements that they received them.

Having had enough I emailed their escalations team to advise them of the problem and they said to send in the bill.

I did so, and now today i have received an email saying tough luck you didn't send the bill in in time.

If Mobiles.co.uk is a credible company then they should fix their online system to allow it to deliver the bill. Additionally on their online system. It plainly states that the order number is not a required part, but you try and put a claim in without it and it will refuse it.

I had heard all about cashback problems but hoped that the items I read were unlucky people. Well I am obviously one of those unlucky people now.

Shame on you mobiles.co.uk! I thought it was bad enough when you refused to change my phone as it was faulty stating I had to go through Vodafone - Once I had been through Vodafone an they exchanged it you washed your hands of it when the same fault occurred on the second handset. Stating we can't do anything as it is not an IMEI number we sold.

As you must be aware since you refer to your knowledge of other people's problems none of this is unusual with this dealer. Given that all the information has long been on here - and with regard the fact that their website submission system doesn't work has been reported for months - you have had two whole months to avoid this situation. It's not rocket science (in anticipation of the repeat post by another succour next month); 1) send the claim as soon as the bill arrives. 2) If there is no acknowledgement in (at most) 7 days take alternative action. This has only happened once with those I look after. It took another week after said action before the claim was both acknowledged and accepted in writing.

There's something called royal mail (we didn't resort to that but would have done if said action hadn't worked) which offers a signed for (i.e. PROOF of delivery) service.

Of course, anyone following this site would know that they should NOT send a claim via this dealer's website (regardless of what they may tell you).

The only rescue which you may wish to consider is this:-

1) Print out the instruction NOW on their website which tell you to use their on-line "system" to claim - assuming you have copies of all the emails sent and received which clearly state WHEN you attempted to submit the claim, how many tines, the date etc.

2) Send them a LBA - by POST and a copy by email. Give them a reasonable time to accept your claim and agree to pay it (different tactics for different situations - not to be enlarged upon on here).

No doubt I will be attacked by the diehards for repeating this (yet again); unless you know exactly what you are doing and follow all (my - not their) groundrules, don't do a cashback deal with ANY company - that alone a cpw one (and THIS one at present in particular).

3) You are still able to make subsequent claims; make sure you don't go down the same doomed path!

By all accounts it works as it was intended to ;)

And as I'm sure you know by now they are not a credible company as has been proved on here time and time again !

If I was you I would follow MJ's instructions and do it asap !
