  • I had a letter from the FOS today, saying they are looking into my complaint and a reference number re The Funding Corp!! I thought it was worth a shot sending them the paperwork.
Had a cheque today for PPi on an old Adams store card through creation finance for £101, sent them one letter and they paid out, strange didn't send an offer letter first, however I had all my statements from a previous charge claim so I know the amount is about right.

That is so good for you deeb604. I would however make absolutely sure they are going to do this as often they can give out a ref number and have you waiting etc and then AFTER getting before an adjudicator they can throw the complaint back with jurisdiction issues. They did with mine twice and a year wasted so I not their greatest fan TBH. I would just ring and check that it is definately something they CAN look into going by dates etc and get it in writing as this complaint is within their jurisdiction.

    Good luck with it.

Oh well I had thought that, but when I spoke to them on the phone, I'm not sure they got the full picture, however am hopefull now they will have it in writing. I'll give it a couple of weeks and give them a call, rewrote to the company and haven't heard anything yet.

Write to the lender for the Payment Protection insurance policy booklet, sometimes these docs are not enclosed with the loan docs and you have to request for this separately.
The name of the underwriter/insurer should be enclosed on the policy.

I had to write to my lender for mine too.;)

I am not sure if FN are now GE Money, hopefully someone who have been dealing with them will know and confirm.

Good luck on your refund as well.

A google for First National yeilds :-
    New customers
The First National brand does not sell products directly to customers. Our products are offered through a nationwide network of intermediaries. We would always recommend you seek professional advice before taking out a loan.
It is possible the GE Money is one the intermediaries they use.

    Edit
    From the above link :-
For first mortgages, First National is a trading style of GE Money Home Lending Limited (GEMHL). GEMHL is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
