I think FOS accepts that firms can make mistakes with redress's and lets them go by.magpiecottage wrote: »They MAY be able to but if you have the offer and have accepted it, I would suggest you complete a complaint form and send it straight to FOS making clear that your complaint is that they agreed the redress but now you have accepted the offer, they are refusing to honour it.
Send a copy of the offer and if you kept a copy of your acceptance send a copy of the copy.
I don't think that FOS would be able to deal with this anyway as they not within jurisdiction in 2002?? (if the OP can confirm this) and secondly I don't know what sort of complaint this would come under? They can only deal with certain complaints can't they from certain dates... although would this most probably be a consumer credit complaint of sorts and the date of incident be when the offer was made??? I think they would look at it as a PPI complaint and take it from there as regards jurisdiction perhaps???0 -
Took them approx 12 weeks to investigate and one week from me sending them an acceptance of offer slip till i got my cheque.
They did correspond when they got to 8 weeks requesting a further 4 weeks, hope this helps
Hi deeb. Tomorrow is the end of the 8 weeks for Welcome. I did get a response after about 4 weeks saying it was taking longer than expected and that they hope to have it resolved in the next 4 weeks.
IF nothing in the post tomorrow would people recommend heading to FOS or give them a little bit more time ? I tried calling their claims complaints line and got put in a queue..........
" You are in a queue, the average wait time is 32 MINUTES !!!!"
So i hung up !!0 -

Hi I tried the FOS by email, they sent me a reply saying they has forwarded it to FSA, spoke to both today, no way with both, also tried OFT, out of their remit, CAB sugested court, £80, have registered incase. I have been advised to write to the company and appeal to their better nature first of all, in regards to the way they have handled my complaint, letter sent today. I might have compo grounds but doubtful I will recieve the settlement offermarshallka wrote: »I think FOS accepts that firms can make mistakes with redress's and lets them go by.

Yes due to the date the loan was taken out, although paid it off nov 2004, advised court before Nov 2010, might be the way forward but exspensive gamblemarshallka wrote: »Was it cause its outside of FOS jurisdiction? I note it was sold in 2002?0 -
Hi Dee
I see you contacted your CAB, so did they actually confirm it would cost £80 to take this on with small claims?;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

You could always use MCOL (Money claim online). I have used it before but not for a PPI claim but very easy to use. It costs about £120 I think for about a £5K claim although cannot be sure (just found that out from CAG!!). You do have to remember though that its a risk and you could lose your money so up to you. Its really unfair how they have treated you.0

I registered with them earlier, I haven't done the paperwork yet as I have written the company a final letter. It will cost me £80.00marshallka wrote: »You could always use MCOL (Money claim online).
