No a cheque took them a couple of weeks to send it
  • I have a complaint going with HFC - Like you I filled in their questionnaire and they requested more time to look into my complaint. This morning I have recieved their letter saying that as my loans were closed over 6 years ago, they have no documentation - even though I do, and stated in my covering letter that I would forward copies if necessary. Because of this they are not willing to pay out. They have referred me to the FOS. They needed more time to tell me that they don't have any records - but the strange thing was when I called up to start my complaint the adviser was able to quote my my monthly payments!!! I would be interested in your outcome.

I will keep you posted, should hear something in the next week or so, mine finished in November 2004, so they should have my paperwork still.

Hi Millie Mo, in same situation with HFC but unfortunately l did not have original documents only account numbers but when l contacted there Customer Service advisor they advised me all details as on screen, they then wrote back as over 6 years could not investigate as no records and when requested SAR sent me recent telephone conversations. I spoke to Customer Advisor at HFC and he told me that since l had previously called on my information had been removed from system. This is now with FOS and ICO who are investigating.
HFC really are a bunch of crooks, l dont know how l will get on as l cant prove how much PPI l paid and l am really hoping ICO will make them release the data they hold.
Dont give up as if you have your original paperwork and have had a final descision from them take to FOS.
  • I had an offer from funding corp on a loan i took out in 2002 and paid off in Nov 2004. I had the offer of £2786 on 31st August and have been waiting for the cheque. I got home tonight and have had a letter withdrawing the offer and stating as the loan was taken out n 2002 this is out of the statute of limitations. Can they do this?? Help??

    What???
I would contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) on this when you can next week.
    Ask them about this.
I think personally they should keep to the offer, they offered it and you already accepted and that's that.

Please let us know how you get on and hopefully others on here will have some helpful advice for you on this too.

Many have been successful in reclaiming from earlier years, so why they have done this to you I do not know.
The one and only "Dizzy Di" :D
  • They MAY be able to but if you have the offer and have accepted it, I would suggest you complete a complaint form and send it straight to FOS making clear that your complaint is that they agreed the redress but now you have accepted the offer, they are refusing to honour it.

Send a copy of the offer and if you kept a copy of your acceptance send a copy of the copy.
