Kitchenbunny (or anyone else who does this) what do you package your homemade cookies in to give them as gifts, and where do you get it? I'm thinking I'd like to do that for a few people too, but wondering what was best/cheapest to use as packaging and where to get it. Please don't say Ebay, I don't use it :o

On the subject of That-Thing-That-Happens-In-December, I have planned most of who is having what and have even got and wrapped a present already . It's a bottle of wine for Boyfriend's family, I saw Tesco were having that big series of wine offers not long ago and decided to get one out of that while it was on, in case nearer the time I couldn't get something as good. As for the wrapping, that's a wine gift box I already had because someone gave me wine in it last year :rotfl:.
  • As it's nearly 3 months until C-word, I'll add this to the exisitn thread :D

    .

I just use cellophane bags from Lakeland tied with curly ribbon and a Christmas tag. They have different types of packaging for cakes etc.

I buy the packets of 50 cellophane bags from Lakeland - they're just the right size to hold a few cookies or sweeties, and have a tall enough top to tie with a bit of plastic ribbon. :)

Hi All, ive not been on here for a long while but am stumped and i know that you lovely people will be able to help... I have done a search of the forums but not come up with what i need although i know it must be there somewhere :o

Basically My Mother in Law has been madly knitting little hats for innocent smoothies which is being done through my daughters school but the deadline is nearly upon us and she has been enjoying herself so much that she will miss it when its over....

:xmastree:Sooooooo my bright idea (with my PTA hat on) is that she could knit some lovely christmas decorations/toys that we could sell at our School xmas fair to raise much needed funds for new computers. My problem is though after googling for over an hour i havent really come up with much :(

So what i need is some really easy/basic patterns for xmas items, she is not very confident although she is good!

We would be really grateful of any suggestions that you can give us! Any help would be FANTASTIC!!

    Thanks in Advance :D

I've got a pattern to knit little people. IIRC they're about 4" high and are very quick to make.

Try the Ravelry site, just put xmas decorations in the search and there are lots to choose from and mostly free. Also have a look at some of the new knitting magazines that have come out lately Im sure one of them has some in it - sorry cannot remember which one. Jean Greenhowe does a Christmas book with lots in - try her website. Hope this helps :)

    Not knitting but still woolly!

When my children were little we made pompoms for the Christmas tree instead of baubles because they were free to make and we were broke, and they were unbreakable therefore less worrying for mobile babies to be around. We've kept the pompoms and have put them on the tree every Christmas ever since. (It's the pompoms' sixteenth birthday this year!)

Would your MiL be interested in making bags of pompoms for tree decorations? Including sparkly wool with plain would make them a bit more festive although ours, in just plain colours, look fine.

    Hi Folks

Wondering if you would share your pearls of wisdom on your fav Christmas books.

I have Nigella but am fancying another one, which are your favs?

I'm deciding between Delia's Christmas, Good House Keeping Complete Christmas, Good Food 101, Christmas Dishes and slightly more crafty Gifts from the Kitchen Annie Rigg, Home-made Christmas Tessa Evelegh.

The Christmas Thread here is great with Fantastic ideas.

Any fav books suggestions greatly received.

    Thanks
