Hi all,
Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but Oil and Vinegar have wicker baskets in (presumably for their own hampers) that they sell separately ranging from £1 for a small one up to £3 for a massive one. I got 3 A4 sized ones for £1.35 each. Well worth it and much cheaper than I had seen anywhere else!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -

Those hampers look wonderful - you're putting me to shame!
Can I ask - what did you put in your pots of gold?
Im going to do some for my family.

I have taken the plunge (metaphorically speaking) and made a hamper contents list and bought the first item - cheap packet of eclairs from Sainsbury that can be split up into the 'hampers' (which will be made from cardboard or something, not worked it out yet!). I have also managed to acquire a load of glass jars for making chutney
- feel much less stressed about xmas now

I feel inspired! This year, some Old Style gifts will definitely form part of my Christmas agenda. I think I'll make some Christmas Cookies for people when the time comes, and then bag them up with pretty ribbon. Thanks for the inspiration, everyone.

What do you cook and What do you buy for christmas?
I'm thinking stocking up cupboards, freezer etc. Obviously not the fresh things which will go offLucylema x :j0 -
Hi there,
I stock up on butter for making pastry for mince pies etc. Sainsburys has lurpak on offer at the moment - 2 pa is or butter and a sturdy loaf tin for £3. Butter is cheaper on its own, hut if you'd find the loaf tin useful its a good price.
I also buy tins of chocs when they're on offer - some for presents and one for home. Also hours of sweets for presents. Sainsburys has loads on offer at the moment.
I go to the butcher for chipolatas and streaky Bacon for the Xmas dinner, assemble them and freeze them ready for the big day.
