  • i,ve just put together mincemeat following deliahs recipe

    i usually make my own cake at end of October but its first time i have ever made mince meat
    i usually stock up on mince meat in april when its going cheap in the supermarkets but none to be found this year and i refuse to pay nearly a £1 a jar its gotta taste better than shop bought smells lovely

    I have used delia's recipe for many years now, and it works a treat.
    Soak fruit in fruit juice or brandy prior to making to make it extra special. If you like to find apply pieces then use cox's apples instead of cookers. ;)

  • Jollymummy i have made a christmas cake for the last 2 years though last year i made 4 mini cakes 1 to keep and 3 to give away, you should defo have a go

    I have just found a bonus suitcase of baby clothes and toys in the loft which I have spirited away from DS1 and DS2 and which are currently in the wash ready to be wrapped again for DS3 (who will be 6 months and nonethewiser)

    V proud of myself this morning!!

    Yes, I've done that ... I now have a secret excel file on the computer with everything listed and have a back-up note on my phone so that I don't double-up when I am out shopping.

    Thats exactly what I am doign this year :rotfl:

    Have bought loads of bits as I have seen them and have to keep hiding them!! I am keeping a list of what I have bought though as last year I found things when I was putting the tree away that I had forgotten about :o

    hi all i am putting together a hamper for my mum this yr never thought of them before as she is so hard to buy for normally this is just perfect, i think it was in this thread i read someone doing a dads survial christmas hamper mite do that for my husband off the kids too apart from these hampers its just little bits i need, does anyone know of any supermarkets that are doing the big tins of roses ect as bogofs tesco where doing it and i got 4 tins but realised now i need another 4
    Needs a hobby and chat too

    Sainsburys have the big tins of Roses for £5 each if that helps.
