I've noticed that a lot of comps I've entered recently ask for your age/birth date ( not alcohol ones ).
Do you think that in the comps targeted at a younger audience ( ie fashion mags, facebook etc ), they may disregard you if you're not in the target age group?
Probably not, but can't think why they want to know, I mean why not just have an over 18 tick box.
Yes, I don't like admitting my age, makes me think about it0 -

You should not be disregarded for age unless you are outside the T&Cs. Dob maybe another method used to track duplicates and makes it harder for fake entrants to claim a prize.0 -
I was just wondering if others enter multiple times per draw under different names , details, like partner, brothers, parents etc.. increasing ther chances to win, Which i have no problem with - im just a bit nervous of doing it.
I also enter the ITV ones with 3 different numbers but all my details - as they are MY phones. Has anyone won doing this? (Using more than one number)
I agree with "Amilucky?", it depends on the T&C's. Some say nothing about entering on behalf of someone else, others like ITV do not allow it and IP logging can be used on any competition to identify those who transgress.
Limits can be per person/phone number/e-mail address/household/postal address etc so you would have to check each set of T&C's carefully if you make multiple entries (unless you are disqualified after being selected as a winner you will not know if your entries were simply disregarded as duplicates etc)0 -

The IP logging this confuses me, as far as I understand it, if you have a static IP address, it never changes, so if it says one entry per person and three people use the same computer, then the IP address would be the same for all entries? Or am I missing something? It doesn't affect me, as I only enter things with my own details and if there's anything I can't enter for any reason, I just won't enter it rather than use someone elses details who can. I just wondered what the situation was where it's within the rules to enter once per person, but (like the ITV ones) says no entries on behalf of other people?
On kind of the same note, there's been times lately when I think is it really worth entering some of the competitions, because some people appear to be entering for everyone under the sun, or with multiple email addresses, I tend to skip past those ones and just stick to the ones where it's not possible to do that.
I mean if that's how other people want to play it then that's fine, but I'm not playing that game because my conscience wouldn't let me (even if there is a loophole within the rules!) as I feel it's not in the spirit of fair play. But that's just my own personal opinion.
Edited to add that I meant I will follow the terms and conditions, if it says 5 entries or 10 entries per person or whatever, that's what I will enter, for myself only (I only use one phone number for the ITV competitions, even though technically I have 3 that I could use (home, personal mobile, comping mobile) but I can see why people use more, because it does appear, from the terms, that it's allowed). What I won't do is try and twist the terms to mean what I want them to mean, after all, I'm only one person, so will only enter the maximum times one person is allowed to enter.0 -
Cheers for the replies, I do only enter my details and numbers for the ITV ones and like I said above I felt I didnt win from 7up maybe because I did enter multiple times with different emails (was within the terms) I wonder just what percentage do enter multiples though, and how often they win
I did get LEM's so I assumed they did accept all my entriesWishing you all good luck!

If the question is can you enter multiple times if it's within the terms then yes, definitely, anything that's within the terms is fine and shouldn't result in disqualification (although sometimes I think when they say once per email, they're a bit outdated and are assuming people only have the one).
I'd guess people that enter multiple times (providing they're not getting themselves disqualified by doing so) are going to win more often than those that don't.
But there's a lot of talk on these boards about comping karma for posting comps, but I'd like to think that anyone who's not following the rules would also have some comping karma (the bad kind!) eventually. (I put it in italics to make it clear I meant people who aren't following rules and/or playing fair.)0 -
