I was just curious really, as you all seem so dedicated! I've been lurking a bit around here (I love the "I won" section, you all seem such a lovely little comping family!), and entered the odd competition that's caught my eye but I was just wondering, those 'serious' compers, how much time do you dedicate to comping on a daily basis and how do you fit this into your daily lives?

time dedicated varies, at a minimum every day i enter the daily comps in the dailies threads, and keep up to date with the postal thread. if/when i have time i will start on comps ending tomorrow which usually takes me a few hours. i tend to do other things (like facebook games/pms) around entering comps. first thing i do in a mronign is turn computer on, and unless im out it stays on till bedtime, most of which time i will be doing somethign comp related these days.

hi im new here and really wana know if people really do win when entering the competitions that are linked on the site ie daily, weekly, monthly? i have entered some 2day how do you find out if you have won? do you get an email if successfull? thanx for your help in advance:)

Hi and welcome to MSE! :beer:
loads of peeps have won from the regular comps (if you look on the 'I won' forum, there's always people saying what they've won)

the way you're notified of a win can vary really - sometimes you receive a 'WEM' (winning e-mail) or sometimes they will ring you up.

as i am new to this can anyone tell me which are the best competitions to enter? are the main ones under daily, weekly and monthly?

The best ones to enter are the ones with prizes that you actually want to win!

Dailies, weeklies, monthlies and one-offs are all worth a shot if you like the sound of the prize.
