Could anyone tell me what the E: is on all of the comp threads please?
Many thanks
It is the date that the competition finishes (E=End), so if for example the heading of the competition is E: 15/12, then that competition ends on 15th December. As all competition titles are in the same format, you can sort the forum according to order of title and then all the competitions ending on any given date will be in the same place, which helps if you want to enter today any that end tomorrow for example.0 -
WARNING for people that have entered the Britfilms 'Cinema in a box' competition, or possibly any other Britfilms competition! Please read the info below as some entries may not have been registered properly!
Some of us were confused about not having an entry confirmation message after the first days competition and having seen Lady G's reply to Toni on their comments section on todays competition, it says to log in and see if the question is still there, if it is, you're not entered, if it's not you are entered, having done this myself I wasn't entered into either of the past two days comps so please please please either register or login and check that the button on the cinema in a box page has changed from an orange enter button to a black entered button!!
I would also search the forum for 'britfilms' and check that any other competitions you wanted to enter you've actually been entered in to!
I'm confused as if they want you to log in to register the entries, why do they have the form in which you fill in your name and email?0 -
BRITFILMS - More Info (Thanks to toniq & bargainhuntergal for raising the problem)
On 20/11 the britfilms website was 'refreshed' and many of the comps had new links and new ending dates. Lakshmi :A spent a good hour or so checking and revising the posts. It now looks as though you are only registered as entered into the competitions you entered since that date.
1) If you are logged in and go to http://www.britfilms.tv/competitions or http://www.britfilms.tv/cinema-in-a-box (for the advent comp) then each comp will have an orange ‘Enter’ button or a black ‘Entered’ button. If the button is orange I would advise you to enter even if you have entered previously. You can also see which comps you are registered as entered by going into your profile (top right) and clicking on the competitions tab. If you are logged in and click on a competition you have entered successfully you will see “You already entered this competition on dd/mm/yyyy. You may only enter each competition once” instead of a question.
2) If you are logged in and enter a competition you will see the question and the captcha but there will be no form for your name etc. When you submit you will go to a page where the URL finishes with ‘entered’, and the heading on the right hand side will say “Competition Entered”.
3) If you are NOT logged in and enter a competition you will have to enter your name and email address as well as the question and captcha. When you submit you go to the home page. If you use the name and email address from your profile your entry should still be registered – when you next log in you should see the black “Entered” button, but the reliability of this is questionable.0 -

Thanks for the extra info, just to note though that option number 3 is what I had done for the past 2 days cinema in a box competitions (and all the ones I'd entered from the main site) and when I logged in, none of them had the black entered button, so I think it's advisable to log in before you enter ANY comps on their website.
I wish they'd remove the form though if it doesn't link the ones you enter to the log in details which match and just have it so you must register and log in to enter, otherwise you think you're entering and you might not be, or you might dupe yourself if you log in and they don't say entered, depending on what they're doing with the entries received via the form.
Edit: Out of interest, what was the change they made to the website on 20/11? Was it to add the log in facility? (I registered on the first day of the cinema in a box competition as all the ones I'd entered before showed the form and that one just had the answers and submit button so I realised that I probably needed to register an account. But then I was thinking that even if I'd entered the single entry competitions, from the main board, before I registered, the 2 days cinema in a box ones I entered via the form were after I registered and they still didn't show as entered after I logged in, if that makes sense?)0 -

I didn't mean you, sorry if you thought I did, there's a post somewhere else on the board (I didn't post a link to it so as not to draw full attention to it) that someone has posted a full name, address and telephone number in.
I waited to see if they changed it but their button has gone red so they're offline, and there's no BG's on.0 -
