I'm annoyed, a few years ago when I looked into competitions there was a site which listed loads of them, now I can't find it. I'll keep looking though!

Do you have the links to the ones you've entered?

Cheers Elfen, I've bookmarked them. I might print out the forms and show them to my writing group too. I've also found a site that lists loads of them. Now I just need to find the money in my budget for the entry fees!

Can any of you crafty people think of something I could make for a housewarming present for sis? Someone mentioned teatowels and stuff, I think it was Pooky that did them? they've got to be fairly simple and easy, preferably hand sewn but I could use a machine if necessary. I'm going to have a go at the tea bag thingy, but something she could use in the flat would be good too.

Elfen, delete it now! Martin has copyright over everything posted on the forums, so you wont be able to use it anywhere if it's still up here.

Other than that I think it's really good, I think writing like that needs to be short and snappy and suits flash fiction well, I've got something similar, a comment about society and things (but from a different angle) which is really short.

Ames, I like doing the short stuff, it's a lot easier than the longer things.

Me too. I'm writing a novel which is made up of short stories, but it needs to be at least three times as long. I hate having to put a load of 'fluff' in it just to meet the random ideas of how it 'should' be done. I'm a short, concise writer, which is where my talent lies (according to the people in my writing group).
