Hugs Butti, sorry you're feeling so down. Thanks for the PM, it made sense!

Ghost, could you do batches of apple sauce and things and then freeze them?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Thanks for all the cooking tips, you guys. :) I'll remember the tip about the lemon juice. And I'll definitely try to batch cook and freeze the results, especially since the landlord's away right now so I can use the proper hobs for stewed apple instead of the little hot plates on my mini oven. But I think I'll use the mini oven if I make apple crumble, it heats up faster than the one downstairs and it'll make my room smell nice. :)

I've just done a bit of kitchen experimenting ( :D ) and made pasta with mushrooms. Basically, a load of pasta with a small tin of button mushrooms thrown in near the end. It was really nice actually. It might have been better with pasta sauce but I don't have any right now.

Ghost, you can do apple crumble in the slow cooker. I've got a mini one just for desserts, it makes the flat smell gorgeous in winter, all nice and warm against the cold outside.

I was wondering that too. Good idea though, I could make some for a late night snack after work.

ghost, you could make the crumble mix and freeze that too, in separate bags. Then all it would need is assembling and cooking for about 30 mins.

  • I don't know what I'd do without you guys. :)

Unfortunately, I have to go to bed now. I just realised I have to get up in 6 hours ( ) because I'm meant to be volunteering at the local homeless shelter tomorrow morning. I don't have to be there 'til 9:30 but I want to walk there so that'll probably take about 30 mins, maybe more at my usual snails pace. :D Talk to you all tomorrow (well, later today now). And thanks again. :)

I have no idea Scaredy! I've just had a look and it doesn't say on it. One's a really big one, the other one has a bowl slightly bigger than a normal cereal bowl, I can fit one sliced apple in with some crumble on top but I've got to squash the lid down (I don't put water in).

I got it for dad as a present years ago and he gave it back to me a bit later.
