hehe I didn't believe it and then thought well maybe?! lol.
we went to an amazing little aquarium that was a real labour of love and very quirky. DD was very little and only just walking when we went. was really strong winds and I remember her insisting on walking all way round stone circle on her own with me close at hand. she walked 2 steps wobbled over stood up did 2 steps more all the way round. very determined. I was frozen and bored silly by the end lol but admired her tenacity.
There was soo much to see actually. I have never thought of it in such a positive light but guess we had added stresses to our visit.

Elly that's great thank you :) I'm off to doc's on Mon as I'm getting really anxious - have cancelled and remade appointmant cos can't make my mind up about anything lol - decided I wouldn't ask about drugs, then that I would...if I can go see about that programme and just talk to him about how I'm feeling - which is swinging between relief I'm not a total faq-up and big downers that I'm in such a mess with my life - and I can't stop fixating on getting diagnosed. Anyway.
I love the sound of the little aquarium, remember visiting one somewhere and loving being able to handle the creatures.
Jo, don't worry about the books - to be honest I'm a bit overloaded with info, I've bought 'delivered from distraction' and have confused myself so much looking through other peoples' experiences on forums that I'm totally at sea lol. Have found lots of people who say their lives were changed for the better when they went on the drugs but also lots who complain about side effects. So God knows. I just want to stop thinking about it now! lol xx
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

paula write down any questions you have ,my gps that i work with love me not as my pts often go in with a letter that they have written for them as often the patients cant really relate/talk to the gp but can usually put their worries down on paper even if its just bullet points

Hi Elly, to be fair the kids were not the added stresses that I meant, although I agree it does get easier as they get older.
Often wonder if my kids will feel the same about places when they get older too .lol.
Did you get all your shopping done yesterday.
We have DH's mum down from Orkney which has meant a few nice meals out etc. I think she goes back tomorrow.
DS asked me yesterday what DS means so I explained all the darling son, darling daughter, darling husband stuff to him. his next question was what does SD mean. I said nothing particular in this context and he says oh yes it does Silly Daughter! nnext question what does SS mean so I say confidently Silly Son and he laughs oh no it means Silly Sister!

Hehe, that made me laugh Jo! I got dragged round lots of museums when I was a kid and to be honest enjoyed it for the most part - we like doing stuff like that with our kids too. Think my nightmare holiday would be one where you had to go and watch the 'entertainment' every night, like when we went to Haven - we got sent off to the kids' club and it was sooo boring.
Elly I bet the patients really appreciate it, in fact I'm sure it tells you to do that anyway if you look up what to expect at appointments, even if it does take up the doc's time lol! I've been completely fixated on the subject since I started looking into it - you have to get as much relevant history as possible together so they can put a picture together of whether you've been like this all your life - I have - and how it has impacted on you in various ways. I'm getting my mum's friend to write me a statement - it'd be more useful to have my dad do this but I'm not ready to talk about it with him as I'm fearful of a negative reaction - and the OH is happy to go with me and tell them how mad I am, he says. I've started taking Omega 3 and having protein for breakfast, and there are other things you can do to help. I've read lots of stuff on ADD forums too, so I'm going to be very prepared when I get to see the mental health team! xx
