Estate agents phoned to say someone else wants to see our house. OH thinks this is a ruse set up by me to get him to help clean up every Saturday - here's hoping they too don't cancel at the last moment or he will really think that!
At least with Flylady we can get the whole house immaculate in an hour - in the bad old days I would have needed 48 hours notice!
Only trouble is she is coming at 12.30 and we are supposed to be doing a mystery shop between 12 and 2 - arrgh! Luckily we don't have a big house to view so shouldn't take to long and then we can dash in the car, park it, speed to the mystery shop and arrive for lunch looking red and sweaty, hmmm, nice! Actually we have two MS's today - both meals -it's like feast or famine!!
Anyway, fingers crossed, wish me luck!0 -
The outstanding balance (£0) has disappeared from the EggMoney page and the Direct debit has gone from my bank details. Bye bye Egg! You won't be missed!0

Hi, Verbatim, What's the cost puts our debt free date at December; it should have been November but the purchases of the last two months pushed it back a bit. Oh, well, should be a good Christmas!
Back from our two meals today - I'm very very full! (I need a really bloated smilie here!)
Had a lovely day though; in between lunchtime and our later meal OH and I wandered along by the river and down backstreets looking at lovely old houses. We also had a wander round the cathedral. We did go in a few shops but were not tempted to buy anything; nothing had that "drag" that shopping used to have. everything I looked at I thought "Well, it's nice but do I really need it?". Visions of all the stuff I had sold on ebay criossed my mind and I discovered that I didn't really want anything! I really feel that I have a completely different mindset to this time last year...hope it is one that lasts!
Though we did spend 40p on two immaculate books for DS - Horrible History type but for Science topics. He enjoys that sort of book so we were happy and what can you get for 40p?? I was so impressed with the bargain that when I looked at the second hand book stall on the market I didn't buy any as I felt £1.95 was too expensive - at one time that was me getting a bargain! Can you become too DFW, do you think?
Anyway, had better go and fill in my MS questionnaires. Back for a browse later...0 -
hi Choc
First time that I've spotted your thread.:o But just wanted to say well done, especially on clearing the Egg loan. Mine should be gone next year too and it's the one debt I'm really looking forward to clearing.

Big :j on the egg loan being cleared.
Even bigger :j for the changes in your lifestyle that are now part and parcel of everyday life - no more pre LBM type stuff for you now, I am sure!

Thanks to the people who have commented...it really helps in staying focused so thanks again!
Have decided to try the 101 day challenge. Will see how it goes as I am a good starter but a poor follower-through.
The areas I most want to sort out are health ones really - it scares me that I don't look after myself too well and that one day it will be too late to change that! I need to lose some weight and become fitter but don't want to set an actual target or go on a diet - just to try and become more helathy in lttle ways that will hopefully become habit.
1. Drink more water - I am very naughty and often go the whole day at work without food or drink, then wonder why I end each day tired and headachey!
AIM: To drink 8 glasses or so a day
2. Eat at least 3 pieces of fruit / veg a day. I know it should be five but will build up to that hopefully.
3. Do more exercising
AIM: To walk somewhere...anywhere everyday
4. Exfoliate skin more regularly. I cleanse and moisturise but that's about it.
5. Reduce debt to £5000 by end of challenge (gulp!)
AIM: try not to add to debt, stop buyng the unnecessary things that are creeping back, list something on ebay each week.
Day one, here we come!0 -
On the 5 a day habit I find starting the day with orange juice is a goody, we have a carton of basics OJ upstairs and have a glass each first thing.

Been to the dentist for a filling today. Sitting here with a completely numb side of mouth and tongue. Can't eat anything and keep making mad twitchy movements with my mouth to feel if the numbness is wearing off yet.
Cost me £20.20 for the privilege too0
