  • Yes you can give neg back to the buyer who you believed messed you around. You can only give positive feedback of course as the seller but you can write what you like ( within reason) and in capitals too. Positive feedback does not have to be positive as it can be negative if you get my drift. As a seller more than a buyer I would certainly appreciate being warned about nitpicking buyers who neg even when the seller has helped them! Go ahead and get it out of your system, dont get mad get even!

Don't get even - get banned for abuse of ths system.

I think you are a bit out of date with your advice, when the rules changed there were a few less experienced sellers who thought this a splendid idea and very clever, but of course it isn't so most have stopped recommending it. If buyer complains the feedback comment is removed and seller gets a warning on their dashboard for misuse of the system.

However many buyers are happy just to get another positive, so it seems odd to any experienced seller to reward bad buyers with positives to increase their feedback.

No you are wrong it isnt banned and as I said you can write what you want within reason. Your feedback will only be removed if offensive ie swearing, threatening and making false allegations. I should know I am a current ebay seller and have been since 98!

I really suggest you check the rules about feedback abuse, honestly, go check.

EDIT: Here you are just in case you can't find it:

Not only will that put potential customers off and make you look like a !!!!!!. The buyer will get it removed as feedback abuse (a negative comment on a positive) which will also go towards your seller compliance

You also have to ask yourself: was this neg my own fault?

Sorry You are wrong and Soolin is 100% correct....I too am an ebay seller...have been for 10+ years TRS PS (Sometimes PMT...LOL), 100% feedback, all singing, all dancing, whistle blowing, bell ringing and flag waving.....AND EBAY WILL REMOVE POS FEEDBACK WITH A NEGATIVE COMMENT IF THE BUYER REPORTS IT!!...and you can be in trouble for breach of ebay rules if you try it!

I think I was initially upset at the change in policy but that evaporated when I had to leave a neg as a buyer myself (for the one and only time in eight years).

I didn't always neg non-payers, I only left one for someone who was just tiresome (wanted an item as a stocking filler that ended on Christmas EVE and refused to pay for it even though I gave her till after Christmas before opening the dispute). It seemed she was fairly new, fairly bolshy and was one of those inevitable few people that didn't understand that a bid was not like buying something on Amazon and you didn't automatically pay for it when you clicked "Submit bid". I guess I feel bad about it now - I was also a relatively inexperienced seller and I'm lucky she didn't neg me back, as it has always hurt sellers more than buyers - but it was just one of those moments when you hit the /facepalm button. If that's the worst customer I've ever had though, I've been incredibly lucky.

    S (Sometimes PMT...LOL), !

Never a truer word and how well that fits me as well!

I was once given a mug that says 'ESP and PMT' = a bit** who thinks she knows everything. I thought that strangely apt.
