Isn't TV marvellous
Plus English's amazing ability to absorb words from all over the place, easily - bungalow, jodphurs, bint........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
We've got more words than the French :T
A lot more words than any other language, as I understand it....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Quite - why do we need Less and Fewer, can't we just have more and not more? and plus not more if there is a lot less?
why don't we do away with some of the words too and just use symbols instead. eg +!more
'Plus not more' equals less? :rotfl:
'Not more' could mean 'the same amount' though!
What a tangle and poor Graham's fretting too.
