I hate MBNA too - americanised already.
The only thing I like about HSBC is that is it used by the Cov for clearing and that I can use their branch and pay slips to credit my Cov First Account0 -
Yeah, I'll get a Off peak saver return from Exeter to Paddington with Zone 2 pass just to open a bank account... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
sarcastic sod lol
you live in exeter? Wow, that's harsh. Are you a chav too? I thought if you lived in essex or exeter you fell into chav or non chav categories, there is nothing else to fall into - - - is there? :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Oh! I tend to like HSBC for being nice and extremely customer driven. Had a couple of problems, sorted in no time. With Coventry, although they do sort problems I found it somewhat exhausting explaining myself.
But I see your point, however you do need to bear in mind you're actually banking with HSBC in a weird sort of way! :rotfl:
That's like my friend arguing about hating barclays the other night but then she pulled out her BHS credit card and I was like, isn't that issued by barclays and she she said it was different. I asked how, exactly?

I could Imagine the IDEAL members only Cov Credit Card:
Managed ONLY by the Cov
Open to Cov members ONLY of 2 or 3 Years
0% Purchases for 18 Months
0% Balance transfers for 18 months with NO transfer fee AND/OR
5% Balance transfers for Life
Fee free use in Europe
Cashback???
Dont want much do I0 -

Gee thanks. I don't live here by choice, and no I'm not a chav. I'm an IT administrator for Devon County Council and will be applying to Exeter University in a couple of years to do a MSci in Computer Science & Mathematics.
I suppose atleast if I were a retard / chav I wouldn't be so frustrated with living in this part of the country...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

sorry I didn't mean to call you a chav, it was merely sarcasm hehe
But I see what you mean, working for the council? Nice, as they say its a job for life when you get in with the local authority! :rotfl:

If you are a Chav the Cov won't have you anyway. They use a CRA to find out. You know... a Chav Reference Agency.0 -
Lol.
Although "Job for life" has just turned into "Six month contract"Thankfully IT isn't overly overstaffed in this part of the country and the skills I've gained whilst working for the Council put me in a very strong position.

I do have a £250 o/d and never tried to increase it, maybe its a good job I never asked if you need 18 months history. I also sent in £30k to a savings account, maybe when you can pay large sums in that helps however I presume they may think twice if I removed my savings from them. (I have kept £10k with them).
I have a callsave moneymanager with them as well, with a nominal balance and this gives the same debit card as the first account but I cannot see callsave money manager on the website anymore so maybe it was replaced with the first account? Anyone know?
HSBC only search Experian, not Equifax. I can screen print my credit files when it lets me post images, but right now it does not.
I have 4 HSBC accounts and all have only searched Experian and/or Call Credit. Never searched Equifax (for me).
To add, all my HSBC accounts were opened within the last 18 months as well.
Here is the callsave statement which helped me to get the first account (I think)!

remove the gaps to see statement
Nope the coventry First and money manager are different accounts.
They withdrew the debit card on the callsave money manager account due to it being VERY popular!!For everthing else there's mastercard.
